He did have a few good moments so perhaps he might yet play a part this season

| Abbott on 08:59 - Oct 15 with 594 views | grumpy | Abbotts first game, some players need time to improve. He's just 20 and has represented England at U16-20. If Tonda wants to give him a chance that's good enough for me. | | | |

I know you’re not I wondering what was happening with him when he wasn’t on the bench on Sunday, as TE said we’re going to need everyone to contribute. It was pleasing to see Edozie and Dobbin with significant contributions to the win last night

This is another problem caused by not having a centre forward. Tonda said as much after the game - he said part of the reason for selecting Abbott was that Larin was not on the pitch. Last year in the period where we didn't have a centre forward we played 3 at the back to get some height in for set pieces. We did the same last night, but put one of the CBs at right back.
| Abbott on 11:47 - Oct 15 with 231 views | A1079 | I thought it was a professional performance last night without any dramatics. To the neutral there was probably not much to get excited about. But, it was a good away win and very much needed as our away results had been letting us down. If we can win at the weekend, 9 points in a week will be a great return. But, Bolton have started turning a corner, so we can't afford to be complacent. West Ham away the following week will be a different kettle of fish - perhaps the ultimate test of our ability, resilience and prospects. | | | |
| Abbott on 16:26 - Oct 15 with 42 views | SonicBoom | yeah definitely a game where the result was better than the performance. In my opinion Tonda took quite a risk resting those he did for the game. Our line up looked very compromised and it was hard to see where a goal would come from. I don't know why he decided to take quite such drastic action but some would say it paid off, but certainly not by much. Norwich are a team that many thought would be competing at the top end and they may well still get there, so those three points could look extremely valuable. It can be a very tricky place to go. I though Azaz was excellent again. He's a level above most on the pitch and can change a game with one pass. Despite the line up tonda did the right thing by subbing Manning and Abbott at half time. I don't know if Abbott was trying too hard but he looked like a red card waiting to happen. I didn't like Tonda's attitude after the game when questioned by Adam Blackmore. He was asked about the line up and whether he understood the sense of surprise before the game. He basically replied that the didn't like the question and he didn't like the fact he was being doubted. Tonda it's your job and it was a legitimate question. After what you've done, you need to remain humble for a while and take the applause where you get it with good grace. But also understand that you still have to answer questions - particularly after a squeaky one nil win. You win seven nil and no one is asking that question. But on to Bolton, another winnable game and hopefully a stronger starting line up. | | | |
