To me this seems like someone at Coventry signed the most ridiculous deal originally, backed by a greedy greedy and unscrupulous landlord. Add into the mix a council who seem not to care about its town having a football club and you have the biggest mess ever! You couldn't make it up! Feel for the fans as complete mis management of the club they love.

Surely, if they have been liquidated, they cease to exist. They have been closed down. They have no assets.
How do the club now kick off a new season when it doesn't legally exist, when all the playing contracts will be null and void and Coventry City is no more ? It's what Pompey have been trying to avoid for years.
As for those who run the club. I hope they are wearing huge wigs, silly face make-up and outsize shoes, because they are all a load of clowns. |  | | |

that should be the only outcome. It won't be. They will simply have a difficult season and the people who put the club into administration will have a debt free club and will no doubt be outspending others before we know it. |  | | |

I think this is a lot more complicated than the usual boom and bust scenario we have become used to.
Judging by what I have read on Coventry forums recently the large majority (apart from the usual few at any club who believe the club's owners are always right) primarily blame SISU for their deliberate attempts, it appears, to undermine the club for their own ends. They have set up a multitude of companies to try and hide what they are doing (to the extent that no-one knows who owns the golden share needed for league membership) and have not submitted accounts for a while. One hope is that if they do go into liquidation someone will investigate what they have been up to but as the liquidator is the administrator appointed by SISU (which is normal practice I believe, but he is open to suspicion) this might be a false hope.

One theory is that is that SISU want the stadium company to go out of business, so that they can buy it and redevelop it. They are asset strippers specialising in distressed companies and have no interest in football, so it is not all that implausible. If they had accepted the lastest low cost rent offer it would have been supporting the stadium company, which would have suited their end game according to this theory.
