.....and there was me thinking knowing about historical figures and digging up the past was your bag of tricks Wessex.
Me, a relative Col Utd newbie, so not suprising it took me until clue three to get it. I am most definitely AC/DC (After Cowling/Disaster Certain) albeit I believe that Heard was in situ for my first few Layer Road visits. Having just moved into the town, I first found myself supporting the U's at their peak of success, but it has been downhill ever since in a sort of Red Bull Soap Box like comedy. Well that blows the Watford connection out of the water.
Other than they were all ‘73 summer signings, though not in that order, nor were they the only ones, I’m stumped. They weren’t Jim Smith’s first signings as manager, nor Robert Jackson’s last as Chairman. Some are in the Hall of Fame, some aren’t. Some are still with us, sadly some aren’t. Some we paid fees for, some were free transfers. | |

D’oh, staring me in the face all the time - all summer ‘73 signings, meaning they all made their debut first match of the 73/74 promotion season. Won 1-0 at Oakwell with a Bobby Svarc 1st minute goal. | |
