Week 12 results CRYSTAL PALACE 1 NEWCASTLE UNITED 1 Even though they had 75% possesion, Palace could only get a fourth successive draw in the Premier League, as Newcastle still look for that first win. 3 got this spot-on, and one more had the outcome. 21 predicted a win for Palace with a massive 15 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score. SOUTHAMPTON 2 BURNLEY 2 Burnley are another team still loking for that first league victory, but they will be pleased with a point here. Nobody had this spot-on, and only 2 got the outcome. 25 predicted a win for Southampton with 13 going for a 1-0 in what was expected to be a low scoring game. MILLWALL 2 STOKE CITY 1 Tom Bradshaw's second-half double secured Millwall's fourth win in five games as they came from behind to win. 4 got this spot-on, and a further 7 had the outcome. BURTON ALBION 1 OXFORD UNITED 3 Oxford gave their absentee manager Karl Robinson the perfect tonic with a victory to record a second-successive League One win over a Burton team who scored with their only shot on target. Nobody had this spot-on, but 6 did get the outcome. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 1 LINCOLN CITY 1 Lewis Montsma earned Lincoln a draw with an 80th-minute leveller. Well done to Lewis_1 for being the only one to get this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome. 25 predicted a win for Wednesday. BRISTOL ROVERS 1 NEWPORT COUNTY 3 Dom Telford struck twice, to make it 7 in 9 games, to give manager James Rowberry victory in his first game in charge of Newport. Well done to GOSBTS for being the only one to have this spot-on, and another 7 got the outcome. I thought this unpredictable season couldn't any worse, but it did today. The weeks three bankers Palace, Southampton and Wednesday all lead in their games, but in the end they all added to the already high number of Happy League draws. Then there was two 3-1 away wins from teams not too strongly fancied. It all added up to the worst 6 game week of the season so far, with only nine total 3 pointers. and just 23 outcomes. Just one member did well to have two 3 pointers, that was Daniel, who had the Palace 1-1 and the Millwall 2-1, to make him the weeks top scorer with a decent 6 points. After today;s matches this is how the seasons 84 games have finished:- 28 Home wins (33.33%), 23 Away wins (27.38%), 33 Draws (39.29%). Happy Midweek League Cup There is only a two week gap between games this time, so the next round of fixtures are on Tuesday 2nd November. Happy Cup The 1st Round of the competition takes place on Saturday 6th November. All the details of the 1st Round draw and fixtures can be found on the separate Happy Cup thread. Champions League A first look this season on how qualifying is going for this competition. The twelve qualifiers will be the eleven highest point scorers over the two divisions after Week 22, plus current holder concordman. The member currently in that final eleventh qualifying spot is burnsieespana, with 45 points. He is 9th in Division One, which just goes to show how that league has dominated the Premier so far this season. In the Premier A second blank week out of the last three for RSCOSWORTH, but he still leads by a comfortable 8 points, as the pack fail to make much impact, in a low scoring week. Thanks to getting the Millwall 2-1 spot-on, mfb_cufc moves up a place into second. The top scoring performance from Daniel moved him up two places into a season high third place. A first blank week this season for basher2010, and he drops two places into the final Super Cup spot. It is fifth place for sevebalo, as he drops out of the top four for the first time this season. One outcome was enough for TheFatGooner to move back into the top half. A second blank week this season for unitedwhites, means he drops into the bottom half for the first time since Week 2. The bottom five remains unchanged, but by having the Millwall 2-1 spot-on, Blue4U2 moved a bit closer to safety, with the three above him all scoring 2 points. In Division One Only one outcome for leader Tropical_Us, but he took his run at the top to four weeks. After getting that good Wednesday 1-1 pick, Lewis_1 moved up two places into the other automatic spot. Just one outcome also for gerry_us, and he drops a place to third. After narrowly missing out on a play-off spot the last two weeks, wessex_exile finally makes it this week, and after getting the Palace 1-1 spot-on, he moves up three places. Dropping two places, but only on the most 3 pointer rule, Pinault_Noir remains well in contention. A first blank week since Week 35 in the 2018/19 season, means blueeagle drops a place into the final play-off spot. Not too much change in the rest of the league, but the spot-ons for GOSBTS and thrillseeker reduced the deficit to the play-offs for both of them. By getting a spot-on for the fourth week running, the Palace 1-1, gsy163 finally moved off the bottom spot he has occupied since Week 4. A first blank this season for durham_exile has seen him decline, much like his beloved U's, to only avoid being bottom on the first to post rule. Hope this is not an omen for the U's. THE TABLES (84 out of 280 played) (Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post) Week 13 Fixtures 10 games picked by this weeks guest gerry_us BURNLEY v BRENTFORD NEWCASTLE UNITED v CHELSEA DERBY COUNTY v BLACKBURN ROVERS HUDDERSFIELD TOWN v MILLWALL HULL CITY v COVENTRY CITY SHEFFIELD UNITED v BLACKPOOL STOKE CITY v CARDIFF CITY CAMBRIDGE UNITED v AFC WIMBLEDON ROTHERHAM UNITED v SUNDERLAND LEYTON ORIENT v HARTLEPOOL UNITED Good luck everybody. | |
