Incidentally, for those (like me) who missed the announcement, that new name on the bench is Shawn McCoulsky, signed as a free agent on a short term deal. Formerly with FGR and Bristol City before that, though he spent most of his time at Ashton Gate out on loan.

Positive first half and lead, but what happens at half time (? ) has and time again just not at the races thereafter. A win, but more convincing than the result.
Will not be able to perform like that against the top sides who will not give you any time and space.

Great first half, but we evidently have a problem with match fitness and/or game management. The brilliant Jasper was rightly subbed as his legs had gone. The old(er) guard also started to struggle as the game progressed and sitting back, conceding possession and soaking up pressure was probably the wisest tactic at 2-0, albeit fans don't like it. Better sides than Scunny might have stolen a draw. But Sears, Dobra and Jasper had put us in control inside 20 minutes. That was the key for me. We can only win by scoring, and this combination looks capable. My fear is what happens when the old(er) legs flag further and Dobra and Jasper return to their own clubs? |  | | |

Firstly possession is probably the most pointless stat in football and secondly the team that takes an early lead, especially if by more than one goal, is often happy to let the other team have more of the ball. Orient won 5-0 and Man U won 3-0 away from home and they both had less possession than the opposition. |  |
