16 Jan 2013 23:45:56 Colchester manager Joe Dunne is close to adding a defender and two strikers to his squad in a battle to keeping United up in League 1. The defender is thought to be Sheffield Wednesday player Martin Taylor. Taylor hasn't featured much this season for the Championship side and the former Premier League man could sign on loan until summer. Dunne is very close to signing Stockport striker Danny Hattersley. Hattersley has impressed Dunne this campaign and could sign an 18 month deal at United. The second forward is Rhys Griffiths from Plymouth who will sign for a nominal fee on a 18 month contract also.
Found this on a football rumours site - don't know what to make of it?

The football rumours site is a complete joke. We have supposedly been linked to loads of different players over the past two seasons, and not one of them has signed for us.

I don't know if it's complete rubbish - Daniel Jones played for Sheffield Wednesday and he's a defender U's narrowly missed out on signing before he chose Port Vale. Maybe there is some truth in the rumour - just a bit out ?
