Week 33 Results ASTON VILLA 0 WOLVES 1 Wolves have completed a league double over Villa for the first time since the 1962-63 campaign. 3 got this spot-on, and another 18 had the outcome. PRESTON 1 CARDIFF 3 Cardiff leapfrogged Preston to move into the Championship play-off places with this emphatic win. Nobody had this spot-on, but 7 did get the outcome. SWANSEA 0 LUTON 1 Luton climbed off the bottom of the Championship with a well-earned win over 10-man Swansea, boosting their own survival hopes and damaging the Welsh club's hopes of reaching the play-offs. Nobody got this spot-on, and only unitedwhites had the outcome. 25 predicted a win for Swansea with 11 going for a 2-0 in what was equally the most predicted score this week. BARNSLEY 0 MILLWALL 0 Millwall lost ground in the battle for Championship play-off places after this bore draw. Another game with no 3 pointer, though 10 did get the outcome. DERBY 2 READING 1 Derby kept up their momentum in the hunt for a Championship play-off place, to register a fourth successive league win, as both teams ended with 10 men. A great 8 got this spot-on, and a further 16 had the outcome. BIRMINGHAM 3 HULL 3 It is now 13 games in the league without a win for Hull after leading 2-0 and 3-2. Nobody had this spot-on, but 5 did get the outcome. 20 predicted a win for Birmingham. CHARLTON 1 QPR 0 Charlton boosted their hopes of Championship survival with a victory that leaves their London rivals cut adrift of the play-off spots. 4 got this spot-on, and 6 more had the outcome. LEEDS 3 FULHAM 0 Leeds went back to the top of the Championship with a dominant victory over a Fulham side that ended with 10 men. Yet another game without a 3 pointer, though 22 did get the outcome with 11 going for a 2-1 in what was the other most predicted score. STOKE 0 MIDDLESBROUGH 2 Colin more commonly known as Neil Warnock, or is it the other way round, has an instant impact as Middlesbrough get a vital win. Stoke are another team to have a late sending off. Another game this week without a spot-on, but 7 did have the outcome. WIGAN 2 BLACKBURN 0 Lee Evans and Michael Jacobs scored late goals as Wigan extended their unbeaten run to eight games and kept a clean sheet for a sixth successive match. No spot-ons here either, though 8 did get the outcome. BRISTOL CITY 1 SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 2 City take their winless run to seven as Sheffield Wednesday recorded a deserved victory at Ashton Gate. Only 2 got this spot-on, and 3 more had the outcome. NOTTINGHAM FOREST 3 HUDDERSFIELD 1 Two goals from Lewis Grabban helped move Forest up to fourth in the table with victory over Huddersfield, who face the growing prospects of suffering back-to-back relegations. Well done to wessex_exile for being the only one to have this spot-on, and another 23 got the outcome. WATFORD 1 SOUTHAMPTON 3 Danny Ings scored twice as Southampton deservedly beat Watford, who remain in deep relegation trouble after another uninspired performance. For the eighth time this week nobody got this spot-on, though 9 did have the outcome. EXETER 0 NORTHAMPTON 4 Northampton dominated 10-man Exeter to win the League Two play-off final and gain promotion to League One at an empty Wembley. Not surprisingly this game joins the list of a game with no 3 pointer, but 10 did get the outcome. CRYSTAL PALACE 0 BURNLEY 1 Burnley secured their first Premier League win in their last 11 visits to London. This game makes it an amazing 10 fixtures without a 3 pointer this week, and just BFG had the outcome. As I said in the Saturday update, if we thought the Premier League games were hard to predict, the Championship ones have proved to be a lot more difficult. After Saturday's 10 games there were 7 that failed to produce a 3 pointer. Another 3 from the final 5 games now makes it an amazing 10 games without one. At least the other 5 games did achieve 18 spot-ons, thanks mostly to the Derby 2-1 producing 8, and the 146 outcomes made sure everyone put some points on the board. Last week we had a decent 11 members getting double figures, this week we had to settle for only 5. With Division One dominating the Premier for the second week running, it was four members from this league that got double figures for the second week in a row, with burnsieespana repeating last weeks 13 to make him the weeks top scorer. That excellent total had two spot-ons the wins for Charlton and Sheff Wed. The other member to have two 3 pointers was concordman, the wins for Wolves and Derby, to give him a very decent 11 points. That same total was matched by BFG, who achieved it with an incredible 11 outcomes. Best of those to get one 3 pointer were noah4x4, the Sheff Wed 2-1, and gsy163, the Charlton 1-0, to give them a decent 10 points each. In the Premier The title is all over bar the shouting as noah4x4 top scores in this division, and takes his lead to 43 points. Just records to go for now. 2 points needed to go through the magic 200 barrier, and 2 more 3 pointers from 25 games required to get the record for them in a season. It is a lot closer contest for the final Charity Shield spots. Second placed thrillseeker increased his advantage by 2 points over the chasing pack. With everybody below the top two scoring 5, 6 or 7 it means gerry_us is still holding onto the final place in third. In fact the only change in this league has Sector4 moving up a place. Just as the title is a forgone conclusion, the bottom place looks sealed for TheHappyGooner as they fall further behind in their fight for survival. In Division One It is as you were for the top five places. That is good news for the top two Blue4U2 and basher2010, as they remain strong favourites for the automatic places. The most significant change has concordman moving back into the final play-off spot, with Lewis_1 dropping out of the top six for the first time this season. The three members, BFG, gsy163 and burnsieespana, who had double figure scores for the second week running, has suddenly given them hope of making the play-offs, but more of the same is required for the final 25 games. After going 8 weeks without a 3 pointer unitedwhites finally got one courtesy of the Derby 2-1. Another 6 outcomes means he still has more of them than anybody in either division. THE TABLES (255 out of 280 played) {Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post) *suspended Week 34 Fixtures I was hoping to make this all Saturday fixtures, but there was not enough games, so we have two from Sunday.
