Magnus 12:25 - Jun 13 with 543 viewsLeadbelly

According to Sky Sports website Magnus is attracting interest from Celtic, Blackburn, Bolton, Burnley, Charlton, Derby, Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday.

In view of this list of potential suitors would anyone put any money on Magnus being a U's player when the season starts?

Think we have all doubted that ever since Col U signed Eastman and Aldred plus offered Heath a new contract,
Am in two minds as to the real value of Magnus in the side. Anybody else got thoughts on the subject?

If we're offered a pretty penny for him then we should sell. It would be the right move for us and the right move for the player. I think Magnus can play at a higher level but for me he hasn't reached the same level of performance in recent times compared to when he first joined us.

Out of contract so no money will be changing hands.

Will he want to drop down a level to play in the SPL? :-)

Magnus was a big physical presence at the back, but against some quicker strikers lacked mobility. He did progress with experience, since Lambert signed him, sure he can now play another level up, but may not be first choice at Championship level /side were there will be more competiton for places. But is he willing to be a bench warmer with a bigger salary.
Had a bad ankle injury, but recovered and played his contract out to the full without any problems, looked solid rather than outstanding, when he already had thought of pastures new .
So fair play never let himself down, needs to step up rather than stay to get full benefit for his own football career .
Lets wish him well.
Heath signed for another season, lost out to Eastman and Magnus only to get recall with injury or suspension,so would had replaced with another, has Wayne Brown signed has coach to help youngsters.

Poll: No half measure either 1 or 2 ?

Good post bwildered - sadly inevitable that the big man would go.

We wish him well, he will be found out against quality Championship strikers for pace but he has served Colchester well.

We need a striker!!!!!

Up the U's
