The U 's dominated early proceedings with Sears particularly unlucky with a drive against the bar from a tight angle with his right foot ! The Vale keeper was in good form and made several good saves to keep his side in the game. However has the match progressed chances started to become few, and one wondered if the U's had missed the opportunity .
There patience was rewarded however near the end of the second period when the hardworking MOTM Jabo turned his marker his effort blocked on the line only for Massey to prod home at the far post.
After the heavy defeat in the League Cup midweek, the U's have regrouped , patient in there performance with there first home win.
Two wins against promoted teams in the league is a great, but standard start , but how will the team perform when going a goal down , will be the main test in its character and development .
