Peretz in - Damion Downs out...
at 13:10 6 Jan 2026

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz is on his way to England to undergo a medical at Saints.

Meanwhile, flop Damion Downs is heading for Hamburg... sadly only on loan.

Fingers crossed we acquire a couple of decent players in the coming days. I won't hold my breath...

Head Coach vs Manager

I see Chelsea have today appointed Liam Rosenior as their manager on a 6-year contract.

It will be interesting to see how he does at such a toxic and demanding club. I know we were looking at him before we appointed the PlayStation pillock, so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on.

Eckert was the U-21 manager and no doubt he would have liked to have added a youngster or two to the first team training/squad - seeing as he knows better than anyone their progress.

Sadly, he's had to play the likes of Aribo and Damion Downs to put them in the shop window in order to bring in the extra £££ for January - as per the SR way.

In the dirty world of football backhanders & money/agents/PL 'elite' teams like Chelsea & Man United, I wouldn't put it past them to let Maresca go to Old Trafford... as long as the FA get their 'cut' from any deal.

Southampton At Middlesbrough The Verdict

Nice of Adam Armstrong to come out this afternoon & throw his defence under the bus for a shockingly poor display. He also points out that both Flynn Downes & Tom Fellows missed good opportunities... but not a word on his own two golden chances to score that he missed.

Not forgetting Enzo Maresca at Chelsea.

I reckon he'll be the new United boss by the weekend.

As for Nuno ; West Ham held an emergency board meeting late last night. It doesn't look good for him and the knives are out. Ironically, I'd have Nuno here in a heartbeat.

Yeah, he said the other day that he "trusts the owners when it comes to player recruitment".

Good luck on that then Eckert. You'll soon learn.

All 4 of today's goals were due to shocking defending... and don't get me started on what Bazunu was doing for their 4th goal !!!

I'm not so sure we'll get past Doncaster in the cup next time out - not with these losers.

If I were the BBC, I'd get the TV cameras to the game pretty sharpish!

DO ONE ECKERT AND SPORTS REPUBLIC

You're not alone.

Eckert and the players are a fu(king disgrace. Six league games in a row winless & playing appalling football.

But the blame for this sh1tfest belongs to Sport Republic and Sport Republic alone.

At least we'll be at our own level next game versus Doncaster Rovers.

And that's not joking.

Tonda is a big problem at this club. He dictates the formation & picks the team. He gives them a game plan.

But the players themselves need to take a long, hard look in the mirror. Poor finishing. Half-arsed effort from some. Too comfortable under a young, inexperienced manager who they probably don't respect in any way, shape or form.

Even if we get decent additions in January, nothing will change under this manager. The players don't believe in Tonda or his way of playing... and neither do the fans.

Four games without a goal... and then Saints come to town.
