Yeah was very interesting this week and essentially made the point that there aren't enough football people running things.

Shiny young players with great stats on FotMob look good, but you need a football person overseeing things to turn round and say that Sam Field can't be loaned out because Varane is injured, Madsen's running on fumes and chucking Morgan in and expecting consistent results is a bad idea. Loan out Morgan, keep Field and if that means you can't do the Ronnie Edwards deal then don't do it because the squad becomes unbalanced, you've got enough to cover CB anyway.

I thought the part about having a core group was good as well and totally agree on their Kone assessment.
Perhaps the sale of Frey has been overlooked as well. Was obviously popular around the place and maybe him going has led to standards slipping etc

It was disgusting. Like a Harry Redknapp away performance. The bloke on co-comms was mortally offended at having to watch it

WE WANT NOURRY OUT SAID WE WANT NOURRY OUT
at 12:11 12 Mar 2026

The fact it's likely to end up no better than last season is damning for Nourry.
He got rid of a popular manager to install his own man, spent a real chunk of money, doubled down on the fitness side that seemed to go wrong last year.
Even worse is that no development prospects have contributed the way they did last season and truthfully have looked massively out of their depth (Esq, Adamson, Bennie, Walsh). The ones from last season have regressed (Kolli, Morgan, Lloyd) and we have nobody out on loan that has been fattened for market or ready for our team (Kelman).

Look, it could all change and we win 2 out of the 4 home games and a grab a few points on the road to leave us feeling a bit better, but it's really not been progress with 9 games left to play

He's having a day. Ordered to pay Eni Aluko over £300k

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport

This sentence is remarkable

'Barton – who has managed Fleetwood and Bristol Rovers – did not attend the hearing, with Mr de Wilde telling the court that he “was arrested yesterday and is currently being held in custody”.'

We basically handed the club over to him in 2012... Jesus

This Season Almost A Replica of The McLaren Season
at 12:46 10 Mar 2026

Like the McLaren season there are some 'winnable' home games coming up

Pompey, Watford and Bristol City.

If JS doesn't win a couple of those I suspect Nourry will pull the trigger

I notice the same people that wanted Marti out now want JS out.
Guys, it really isn't the manager. I don't think replacing the CEO will change much either. It's our absent owners that are the issue.
Under this regime the culture of the club will remain 16th in Championship with a few hammerings every season thrown in for good measure.

If the club is ever sold then you may see things change, until then it's doubtful

He's 22, first season at this level and on 7 goals. He's not the issue and will likely win Young Player of the Season

Playoff positions to be extended to 7 & 8th place
at 13:55 5 Mar 2026

In reality it's 2 extra games.
So 5th will play home to 8th and 6th home to 7th.
After that it's regular play offs.

So if we froze the table now you'd have
Hull v Derby
Wrexham v Saints

Then across 2 legs you'd get
Ipswich v whoever the lowest place team that won their game was
Millwall v second lowest place team

What it actually looks like to me is ANOTHER way to benefit parachute payment clubs who tend to finish 4th and 5th by giving them 1 less game to get back to the Prem.

Varane
at 09:07 5 Mar 2026

This article couldn't say less if it tried.

He went to the British museum, he walks around Windsor but hasn't bothered to go to the castle.

It's barely even a puff piece, more a siren from club and agent that he exists and we would quite like to sell him this summer for some profit please

Our best hope is to sit in and be defensive.
Get that ball up to Kone quickly and have someone with pace around him.
Need to stodge the midfield up as well, perhaps something like
Walsh, Mbengue, Cook, Dunne, RND, Hayden, Varane, Edwards, Smyth, Vale, Kone

It's desperately negative, but the potential to lose 4-5 in a row is creeping in

So Rowett, Neil, O'Neil, Manning, Beale, Cleverly
Other than that there aren't exactly many knocking around who are our level

Now just 'unavailable and don't know when he will return'.
Very, very strange. Either something personal is going on or he is chronically fked

Think it's more that we look like 'only' losing 1 parachute payment club in Ipswich (if at all) and the teams coming down are going to be absolutely stacked.
Still, Vale and Morgan centre mid should sort that out

Walsh
at 15:35 26 Feb 2026

There's 12 games left. Play him and see if he gets better.
Address it in the summer after moving on Nardi and Hamer. You need to sell one of Cooper or Walsh though, can't have them both as development options

Not sure what we do with him now. He's likely got 2/3 years left on a decent wedge of money. Certainly one that hasn't worked

Does feel like next season you will have a stronger division with the following teams having sorted themselves out
Saints, Norwich, Sheff U. Plus only one of Ipswich, Wrexham or Birmingham likely to go up.
The teams coming down will be hurling money around to go straight up Wolves, Burnley, WHam/Forest/Spurs. So that's 8 teams already looking strong for next season.

As for us and this season, I think it will be successful if we keep avoiding long losing streaks and streaks with no wins. Plus stay bobbing around 10th - 14th.
After the next 2 home games there's 5 very winnable home games to come (Pompey, Watford, Bristol, Swans, Derby) so every chance we finish the season alright.

I do think the building blocks are there now. Dunne, Edwards, Madsen, Chair, Burrell, Kone is certainly enough to be cracking on with!

You want Ronnie Edwards you have to free up money somewhere else.

The manager isn't the issue. He's done fine this season.
The issue is that an already run ragged group of players are expected to put in high level performances days apart with lots of travel in the middle.
You also have to question, once again, the squad building. Ronnie Edwards came in so Morrison and Field had to go out. We haven't been able to rest or replace Madsen at all and now he's likely out for the season.

Bad injuries and big spending means the squad is unbalanced as we look to keep an even keel.

Didn't expect a win last night, but the capitulation was unacceptable. But that's on more than just the manager

The results against the bottom teams have been really poor this season and will be what potentially keeps us from having a really decent season (8-12th) to a deeply average one (16th)

Club Accounts
at 16:21 18 Feb 2026

I think the accounts aren't stunning but aren't a bin fire.
But really it all hinges on selling someone this summer. I do think we likely should've cashed in on Varane last summer when around £5m was being dangled in front of our noses.

It's a BIG summer for how the club moves forward. Sell Varane, buy 3 players and make a profit then it's great. But if we don't then we are heading towards issues again
