Last week I heard an interview with a BBC Correspondent and a Democratic Congressman, the BBC Correspondent said that this ' was a George Floyd moment and people will take to streets'. The Democratic Congressman to his credit said that the focus should be on understanding exactly what happened and he hoped that people will not overreact and he did not want to see any disorder. |

............................and now it transpires that the Police covered up the use of Section 14 notices on the day to disperse a number of groups of masked locals trying to get to the stadium on match day. The police social media team were instructed to say there were no incidents.

There are five million family businesses under threat from Reeves' inheritance tax measures. They employ 50 percent of the workforce.
There is going to be another U Turn on inheritance tax, once those businesses are sold or wound up, it will take time to replace them. Almost every country exempts family firms for a reason.
We have a government who have no idea how a commercial operation runs. They are using a load of flawed assumptions from one left wing think tank to screw up the country.

My son spoke to a recruitment consultant yesterday who works for one of the big UK consultancies. She said that the number of vacancies she is being asked to source for has plummeted to the levels seen in COVID.
A couple of conversations I've had with someone looking for a job and a guy that employs around 80 people back this up, finding a graduate job in the North East of England is very difficult. People are sticking with their jobs in South Wales, the employer has seem staff turnover almost stop in the last three months, he is using overtime a lot more to cover additional demand rather than take people on. The staff profile in his business means his NI bill has doubled in the last year.
With higher employment taxes, increases in business rates, increases in IHT for family businesses, the tightening of employee rights and the possible use of of AI, employers are going to think very carefully about hiring.

I admit to being more than amused by the outpourings of surprise on these events. Anyone who has an understanding of US foreign policy since WW2 will see this as just another intervention, albeit a small one.
