Both of Dave's podcasts this week are an absolute must listen. If you haven't before, make time for these two. When Dave Mc is in "home truths" mode it's pretty unfckwithable.
But the first one was very much focused on Stephan and the second one started with "it's not the time to talk about how the club is run" so I'm really hoping it's part of a trilogy and we get to hear part three in the coming weeks. |

On the training point, Gallen's insight on another of their podcast was interesting.
He said by this point in the season you're not really training at all. Everybody's busted up, playing on injections, carrying injuries. Your training at this stage is basically keeping things ticking over, set pieces etc. You shouldn't be doing mega serious training and fitness work at this point in the year, you do all that stuff in pre-season which is why it's so important.
We've publicly said that we do the opposite. Start undercooked and go for a slow burn approach to build up to now. |

I still think he's done fine.
He's being run into the ground at the moment, played with knee strapping, on his own up front. He's playing poorly I wouldn't argue that, but first half the other night Birmingham 19 crosses QPR 2. What's he meant to do with that? |

The “culture of honesty” is a great point.
We signed a player in January, never been seen, Dave Mc says he’s got a bruised shin. Why can’t the club tell us that? What sort of coms strategy is it to just let him miss 8 weeks of action and never say why, turning it into an issue, creating a vacuum, allowing conspiracies to take hold.
Since Nourry got here he has taken step after step after step to control and reduce how much info the fan base gets. Interview access reduced, pulled altogether, or editorial control ceded. Transfer fees - undisclosed. Contracts - secret. Injuries - GDPR mate. Pre season - behind closed doors. Fans forum - stick it out before the season starts and that’ll do for the year. Speaks to Dave Mc on the condition he doesn’t ask about why we’ve just sacked the manager. Invites questions for an online q and a with the coaching staff - never happens. Does an online q and a of his own - packs it with nonsense puff questions. Injury updates on the official site - deleted.
It’s not a club with any interest in engaging and involving its supporters in any way at the moment. I’m amazed they still produce a fixture list. |
