Managed to get to West Brom away and the Sheffield Wednesday home game over Christmas and New Year from Barcelona, will be back for Sheff U at home too and Wembley in May (FA Cup Final or Playoffs, either is fine) |

4 Championship clubs in for him on a permanent deal. Guess we could be one of them then |

The main thing here is what is happening at Strasbourg, quite frankly disgusting. A proud old club being forced to be Chelsea's feeder club. Should be a warning that it could happen to any of us and as ever, a reminder that our CEO ran a company that advised on these multi-club ownership deals |

Ryan Mason sacked at WBA. Don't hire a rookie manager who needs time to learn on the job if you don't have the patience to give the manager time. |

Assuming injuries to all the players rumoured, I'd be going Nardi Mbengue Dunne Cook RND Madsen Field Saito Dembele Kolli Kone As strong as possible, don't think RND will be asked to sit out unless Sheff U really want to recall him to play third fiddle to Burrows and McCallum. A strong and organised team who know each other well against whatever bunch of players West Ham cobble together could be massive. Perfect game for a 25 minute Smyth cameo too (just please, Julien, never start him, it doesn't work). Plus the energy off the bench of Morgan, the know-how of Hayden. We have a huge chance here, let's not blow it. West Ham fan I know when I asked him about the chances of playing the U21s, he said he hopes so as they are better than the first team. Lets see. Could be a new manager bounce for them by Sunday anyway! |

The Daily Record up north of the border reckon we are interested in 21 year old Dundee defender Luke Graham, along with Pompey and Sheff U. Appears to be a centre back |

I mentioned Castledine in the summer because at that point, Chelsea were willing to let him leave on a permanent deal and he sounded exactly like the kind of player we would try to sign under the current regime. Not sure if we could still nab him permanently now, but why not I guess! |

We knew under Julien that things will be streaky. For every one of those winnings runs, there will be runs like this. For this, we are very far short of being a top 6 side. |

Elijah Dixon-Bonner turns 25 tomorrow, that is 6 years older than Kieran Morgan, Daniel Bennie and Esquerdinha. The bloke had played so little senior football that he's just gone way past the point of catching up now. |

On full backs, have the club decided Adamson is a write-off? his performances in pre-season were pretty concerning and he hasn't had a look in since. We had a teenage central midfielder starting again at RB last night while he doesn't make the squad |

On the other hand, an 18 year old Antoine Semenyo was on loan at Bath City in the National League South from a Championship team and is about to join Manchester City for £65 million. Ultimately, all players develop differently and what works for some won't work for others. It's up to the club to decide the next steps. No reason why Sutton and Bennie can't have a good go, I'd love that instead of Smyth and Frey. But again, that is up to the club to be brave and do that. |

Jacob/Josh Murphy is injured for them, which is wonderful news |

I had absolutely no issue with Cifuentes looking elsewhere and still think he was excellent for us and would get an applause for me. I also have no problem with the club looking beyond Paul Smyth, he's 28 so has no re-sell value and he is rather limited. It's fine to move on too. |

No prizes for guessing which of our former managers has got his agent, that he doesn't have, to get his name straight out there. |

Ipswich did spend quite a lot. Everyone will, every club is going to have to buy a new squad when they go up. |
 | Forum Reply | Madsen at 11:59 21 Dec 2025
Hmm, don't like that personally. He was terrible last season, barely looked like he was trying. If that is how he performs when he doesn't like the manager, that isn't a good sign for us or for future sales. Or maybe I'm looking too much into it. Still out POTS so far for me anyway. |
 | Forum Reply | Could we go up. at 09:54 21 Dec 2025
It won't happen but there is something kind of sad that if we did go up, we would have to replace our entire squad. No exceptions, the lot of them would need to be replaced for us to have any chance up there. Not something unique to us, tbe gap is too wide and whoever goes up will have to replace the lot. But that is sad. I miss plucky championship sides getting up and having a go. |
