i really would like the club to sign this guy. As i understand it, he is on a season long loan. Sheff Utd have picked up in form, but clearly didnt rate him highly enough to have him compete for a place in their squad this season, but have there been any indications seen by anyone that they will recall him this window or may want him back after a season here. For me any fee £2m or under is a very solid investment. He is exactly what we need as a full back, solid, reliable, seemingly good injury record and does what a full back does and occasionally overlaps with our wingers too. We seem to have had terrible trouble getting decent full backs and a la Edwards if the deal was right, i would be more than happy to see this guy signed permanently. What do others think ?? |

I can also see him playing centre mid if required also. He did so in a couple of games for us last season.. Wonder what fee we weren't happy with paying when we were offered Edwards in the summer... [Post edited 8 Jan 15:38]

Absolutely fantastic news and very pleased we have signed him permanently. £4.5 million is a lot but I do think he will do very well for us and if we dont go up in the next couple of seasons, then there would for me be no reason his sale price couldn't make a handy profit. It is a risk at that price but I think Southampton never really rated him, really hard to understand that from what we saw last season, but am very happy he will be here. Thought it wasn't going to happen. I am off to the barbers to cultivate my Ronnie Barnet, all in our Ronnie wigs next home game then.... [Post edited 8 Jan 15:32]

To be fair, Exeter will get 45 % of gate receipts around £400k and have 8000 fans there, so the luck of that particular draw in the cup has got them a massive amount of money for a club of their size. And they could have been drawn away at a small non league outfit and got half a shilling in gate receipts so its a massive and unexpected pay day as it is, and for whatever reason, this club is in debt, that is down their own mismanagement from within. There are times when the big clubs should clearly be pulled up for irregular behaviour, and they are not, but for instance handing over an extra £100k to a club that may already get around £400k, to help them with their own financial irregularities - that's like me spending all my money down at the bookies and then asking my employer and saying I have no money till the end of the month, can you put an extra £500 into my bank account so I can afford to eat this month. Would not be calling out Man City over this myself. Think its a bit of a brass necked cheek from Exeter myself....... [Post edited 8 Jan 15:25]

 | Forum Thread | Hamer has had his contract term extended at 15:02 8 Jan 2026
https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/202 Although, it does not say for how long. So not sure if its for a couple of months, till the end of the season or even beyond that. Again communications that are economical with what is being revealed. My personal view after this is, surely one of Nardi / Walsh will now be attempted to loaned out or be sold, and personally speaking, I would welcome an expected new number one signing who is intended to be the first choice goalkeeper, all being well. Mahoney-Cooper back from loan at the end of the season, as i understand it to be, [Post edited 8 Jan 15:07]

Yes the club is now giving injury information now, but I think they can be very economical with the truth, ie Chair was said to be back in December, now he is only likely to return to training later this month, and the type of injuries are often not one hundred percent accurate either. I can't see any real reason why not completely opening up to the full realities of some players injuries - ie it doesn't need covering for any competitive advantage for me. Not much point highlighting cases if they not giving the correct information really. Weird. It was extremely unlucky to get four injuries in one game, but fortunately, our much improved squad depth, we will be able to assess where by we can see if our squad players are as decent as we believe them to be. And I know some have criticised people moaning about the pitch, but really it's in a horrendous state for a championship club of our resources and the agricultural staff should be concerned about their positions right now. Not sure why any would disagree with this , tbh. A mate of mine lives in a very small village and their football pitch is pretty pristine and its basically good old Bill on his sit down mower. Yet our pitch maintenance team, if you can blame them for this atrocity, seriously get some of these wages off the club payroll and replace with turf technicians with a great track record please. If the club could comment about the state of the pitch and why its happened and what can be done to improve this as soon as possible, it would be nice to know what the plan was going forwards. |

Had to look up the family likenesses etc etc.... And also found out the foitballers sister and obviously the tv presenters daughter also is the girl that plays the very attractive young woman who is in a wheelchair in Eastenders - Penny Branning. Been in a wheelchair since the age of 7 in real life also. Sorry people, blame it on my partner for knowing that, but anyhow there definitely must be a real competitiveness and willingness to succeed in that family whatever they do. i dont know the player myself but one of Chelseas many buying to accumulate without the belief that he could ever be a player for a top five premier league club. So, I would definitely think from all of that, could be worth a punt. [Post edited 8 Jan 1:30]

i seriously doubt that. My mate is a season ticket holder at Pompey. Yang has been similarly used by Pompey as he was here, very often on the bench and sometimes not even in the squad. He has scored couple of decent goals, but been ok but nothing special. Nowhere near, a premier league player as yet. Seems a strange pick up by Coventry and like others said bit of a rash and sudden decision. [Post edited 8 Jan 1:16]

I saw this also. He is another that i personally also felt he had skill levels to at least be league one level and at one stage i did think he could be a tidy player and even here for us in the championship. The issues i felt he lacked were about drifting out of games and being a little lightweight in his overall pitch presence and play. Am guessing if we cant sell him somewhere, we will try to loan him out somewhere, but seems like that may be difficult. |

i very much agree with you regards tickets. i had a few manic days and missed any indicators that tickets were on sale and unfortunately only found out when got message that tickets were all sold out. But personally i would never buy tickets on the black market amd especially for ridiculous costs. Definitely a few people with a lack of morals and have no qualms about defrauding innocent people. Shame but hopefully will enjoy watching on the gogglebox !!! |
 | Forum Thread | QPR FC Official Facebook Account has 800 Thousand Followers at 23:57 7 Jan 2026
Find that number absolutely unbelieveable. Perhaps, increased when players such as Saito or Yang join us and people from their nations follow the players to their club throughout their career rather than being a specific club supporter. But still thats an unreal number. Appreciate there will be many many people that will never be able to attend games, be it because of finances, their locations, their health, their age etc. And do know also some people who follow might do for lots of football clubs not just their own. But surely with such levels of interest in the club, if we were to ever get into the premier league and manage to stay in there for a couple of years at least, could we then still have reasons to believe a new stadium with an increased maximum attendance possible, that given this potential could correlate to an increase in our fanbase that could fill an larger capacity stadium. Obviously, am sure that is clearly the dream, and its possibly a pipe dream, but 800 thousand is a mad number !!! Could then do well with a 30 thousand capacity stadium in the future perhaps !!! Fantastic 100 from Bethell. Definitely a star is born. Ricky Ponting said its the best maiden test century he has ever seen. And then you have Harry Brook lbw to a part timer. Plays always like a t20 batsmen on heat... And Will Jacks what a f*cking idiot. Pathetic. End of his test career. Just as we were getting into the game. A couple of total tw*ts ensure we are now heading for another defeat. [Post edited 7 Jan 5:30]

I got a good feeling Bennie could end up doing well. He does seem a bit all arms and legs but I think he could be a handful and think he has the potential to improve and be a bit of an upgrade on our last Aussie number nine.... Although I am reliably informed Lyndon was of Scottish ilk !!! [Post edited 6 Jan 23:59]

West Ham were unlucky tonight. Watched the second half, very unlucky offside but would have been a perfectly good goal without it. Forest immediately equalised with a slightly lucky header and then got a pen right at the end that again without VAR wasn't seen. Think this result was massive in their season. For a short time they were two nil up and just a point behind their nearest rivals outside the relegation zone. But ended it with much worse goal difference and seven points behind their nearest rivals Forest outside the relegation zone. Must have a massive impact on their confidence. Did notice how poorly Bowen played as whenever I have seen them play Bowen normally carries the team on his own. No better time to play them. We all know what happens next !!!! Great job being a football manager these days. If you dont perform but you are reasonably good but nothing special, you can do so much better financially if you keep getting these long lucrative contracts that all get paid up in full even if you are sacked three months into your reign. Football is totally messed up by insane amounts of money. Man Utd should have stuck with David Moyes as Fergusons choice. Ferguson was crap for four years at Man Utd before any kind of success. But no club from the premier league to a non league lower level tier will keep any manager for four years if they are simply mediocre. Its the same in a lot of jobs now - restructures happen in corporate world all the time and many lose their jobs consistently. No wonder half the world is messed up mentally..... What do I or anyone else know though. Let's see Liam leave Chelsea at the end of the season. He decides he wants a real challenge and decides to manage at local team QPR and we get promotion to the premier league, Chelsea fall into an embarrassing abyss and get a deduction of - 50 points and the hope of the cup final win playing local rivals QPR in the FA Cup final but Chelsea show their class and are despatched six nil by Queens Park Rangers - a double hattrick MASTERCLASS by Michael Frey !!!!! Yes its an inevitable consequence and no I have not touched a drop either !!!! [Post edited 6 Jan 23:38]

He will probably do as well as previous managers and Chelsea will move him onwards in a year or so. For me, seems a risky appointment by them and not their usual type appointment. Chelsea, these days to me, its irrelevant. They are a club, we won't ever be competing with again, anytime soon and they are up and down and just about clinging on to being a big club in terms of performances but not in the top three or four. We certainly have no rivalry with them for many years due to finances, so as said they are an irrelevance to us. Even if he performs well, he will inevitably be sacked. The madness of football today !! |

Great shame re Burrell, particularly as I would have hoped he could have had a run out against West Ham in the cup, but sadly inevitable in the end, regards him picking up an injury. Where was our sports science and protecting a player at being overplayed here. The advice of our performance Director, Ben Williams seems to have been bypassed regards Rumarn, simply because he was too important a player for us, in games. Certainly was overplayed. As you say Brian regards the not playing of Kolli, whether he was injured throughout or not selected for alternative reasons, we won't be told. Clubs can be very economical with the truth on such occasions and I guess can understand that in certain circumstances as you intimate also. I know a few on here, who have considered themselves in the know, alleged they had first hand knowledge of a disagreement between Kolli and Ben Williams in the club canteen, where Kolli argued with Williams, where Williams was reported by some on here to say, whilst I am here, you won't get an opportunity to play here. Now, whether this was allegations not backed up by fact, or indeed was true, in reality such an incident should have zero bearing on whether a player is selected or not, but there was a few on here, that were very vociferous about this, and said it was the reality of the situation. Whether this happened or not, I can't believe at all, that this had any bearing on Kolli's non selection. If it did, then we are very amateurish in our running of our club. Any workplace, employees clash inevitably on occasions, and its then up to the management and others to all work together to minimise such impacts and resolve it as best as it can be, so that all colleagues perform as best they can, and a few words in the heat of the moment, can be forgotten about, everyone shakes hands and people move on. Although, its clear, there must be some reason Rayan was not selected over Frey in recent times, but its unlikely we will ever know. Anyhow, am glad he got on the pitch and pleased for him, he took his chances. Let's all see how this all pans out. [Post edited 6 Jan 10:43]
