Susie changed massively from 21 to 28.
At 21, seemed without direction, travelling with no real enthusiasm but at 28 had married and seemed a contented mature woman, as against a chain smoking neurotic young woman previously. |

Clearly a season break, so coming out with random threads
Did anyone else on here warch the 70up documentary ,where 14 people were filmed every seven years of their lives from the age of 7, to the last documentary where they are now 70 years old.
The first programme was made in 1964.
Clearly the man that produced the series had an agenda to highlight class differences and also expectations of gender etc, with some of the very different questions he would ask the shows participants.
Found it interesting to follow different peoples lives throughout their lives. Very intruguing. Could not be done now, everyone would be following them all the time over social media, as with this only got updates every 7 years. Long enough period where one man went from being single at 21, to being married with fuve small children at 28.
Some were very successful in terms of careers, some had difficult relationships, some travelled far and wide, some had very tough lives, but would not say any had it particularly easy. Some changed personality wise and some were the same character type throughout.
Many of them had issues at times with Michael Apted the producer and some dropped out for long periods. Two have sadly passed as now too has Apted also.
Interesting also seeing the different fashions, the different homes and environments over the years. In all reality they were indeed the first tv reality stars of their time.
All of them all appeared to be decent people, and it was nice to hear that a few had met up over the years and not just in their so called class sets as Apted had wanted the documentary to show above all else.
Not known of any other such tv documentary ever to do this, so definitely an extremely interesting tv show. [Post edited 23 Sep 19:04]

Crikey and i thought i wasted too much time on mindless nonsense. Some truly random league tables here. Must get my thinking cap on.
1. Nearest Lidl to a football ground perhaps.
2. Density in terms of numbers of kebab vans around with shortest distance from a stadium.
3. Nearest curry house from a stadium, but has to be en route to the nearest train or tube station.
These are the kind of league tables that are crucial to daily living, surely !!
Sorry Bosh waa meant to be a general reply and not to your critique of the average Millwall fan. Regards that though, saw a report about Millwall West Ham firms of old school hooligans being almost a dying breed ie the violence is under control from days gone by, when you were potentially risking your life to get wrapped up in such nonsense. If you did listen again, these dumb bum algorithms will start to think you like it and its AI counterparts and flood you with similarly created alternative AI rubbish.
Made the mistake of watching a couple of then and now pictures of couple old school comedies. They seriously make mistakes.
I think its possible to remove the future bias, but just as easy is to stop clicking on similar content.
It can be irritating though - do agree !!!

Such a great surprise with the form of Adamson and a la Madsen last season, everyone including myself had basically written him off.
So from last season our only QPR contracted player that could play left back was Esquerdinha.
Now we have
Adamson,
Cirkin,
Lamptey,
Kemper,
Adjety- Brew
Note to recruitment team. We are ok now on the left of defence. |

Wondered how Johnathan Varane qualified for Martinique, a country tbf never heard of previously and the lesser spotted Raphael played for the French. They had the same father but different mothers. Were both brought up in France but in separate homes.
Apparently though, the reason for Johnathans representing the mighty Martinique, its where his and Raphael's dad was born and lived as a child. Yet one represents France and the other some random outpost.
Something slightly wrong how nations can select players these days. Dont agree with it myself. Born and spent your childhood years in a country. That should be the only criteria for me. |

Fantastic hit.
Definitely hit the sweet spot, if thats not too inappropriate to say in todays PC world !!
Again also, I think Paul Smyth is such a massively underrated player with skills and an engine that have propelled him to a decent standard of football performances consistently and definitely a great presence in the dressing room. And like with Dunne, do hope he remains here for the majority of the rest of his career going forwards.

Thats a really fantastic thing for your wife to be involved with. A friend a few years ago, sadly ended up in a hospice at way too young an age to be in one. The staff were outstanding. What a job they do and their help is massively underrated. Special people definitely.
And the cat rescue is another great cause. My partner has had a couple of cats, one which i knew. Sadly both were run over at young ages, so she wont have any now, but cats are by far the superior beings compared to us idiot humans.
Was a regular road runner in my 20s and early 30s. Did a lot of half marathons and 10k races back then too. Only one marathon in 1996 at London. Did ok, but paled into insignificance with regards to my dad. He did six from the age of 56 to 62.

One really poor challenge could be viewed kindly as mistimed or over enthusiasm at best. Two in the same game is indicative of assault.
From what these two clips show is that both challenges are potential leg breakers and potentially career ending tackles also.
Absolutely abysmal - disgraceful !!
Maybe the club should report these incidents. Both look so bad !! |

Yes, there was a massive contrast half to half, but then again our football was National League South in the first half, and top class Premier League in the second.
The fans feed off the players and vice versa likewise.
Was a great shame Madsen's free kick didnt end up going in. The stadium would literally have been shaken from its foundations. I noticed looking around the ground when Smyth's goal went in, all corners of the ground were going absolutely stark raving bonkers. Even the most timid of fans had their moments of sheer delirium at that time.
Read a comment on social media from a Preston fan, he appreciated being at a ground where the atmosphere was so unreal, even when conceding in the last minute.
Whenever, we eventually upgrade to a new stadium, we have to be so careful, in that the design, enables the atmosphere we can create at Loftus Road. We dont want to make the mistake, West Ham have done. Their fans hate it, as would we.
What other crowd though, would go that mental at equalising at home to bottom of the table, Preston North End. Only QPR. [Post edited 21 Sep 10:40]

The Madsen free kick, minute 90+4, was arking into the top corner, until their keeper came out of nowhere.

Even more surprisngly, would have been completely deserved. Fabulous second half.

I know will get a bit of stick for posting about an ex player who miserably failed to achieve here at Rangers and he never woild have done either.
But so far this season for Basel : -
9 competitive games
6 goals
1 assist
Perhaps the one thing this transfer taught us, is we could get our fingers burned seeking out talent in the lesser european leagues - not always the case a la Madsen, but glad a majority of our players are hand picked from the British Leagues as opposed to the star strikers in Middle Europe.

Desreved call up.
I thought the fact Kemper got an injury, meant that we would not be moving Adamson onwards, as he then has stayed, as cover was needed ie Cirkin and Lamptey both being eased back into the fold.
That may or may not have been the case, but his improvement on both sides of the defence has been impressive. Been really impressed with him, when my view was him and Esquerdinha were on the same pathway.
Playing Brazil used to be the ultimate international opposition, but they have not been supreme for some time now.
Hope he gets some time on the pitch and plays well.

Was impressed with N̈ourry, Stephan and Jimmy.
Christian seems to be much more confident in his role and has been learning from his mistakes too.
I wasn't as apprehensive as some, that the club had made a mistake in recruitment to employ him at such a young age. If you are good enough, then age is just a number. He clearly is in touch with the modern way of doing things and most aspects of the club have been turned around in his time here. Especially with regards the average age of the squad, the squad depth, and yesterday there wasnt either any ducking of awkward questions. He answered all well and succinctly also. Personally, am glad he is here and hope he continues to improve the club in many aspects.
Julien also, after being at the club for some time, is more enshrined in the club and is an assured presence, and speaks intelligently, whilst recognising there is a fair way to go. Again, good to see.
And Jimmy is proving to be an absolute natural leader at the club. Am sure he is great with the younger players and also he is very aware of making sure players are all doing ok mentally also, if they struggling on and off the pitch. Everything you want from the team captain. Hope he remains here for the rest of his career. See no reason why he shouldn't be.
It was very noticeable also, that everyone appears to be singing from the same hymn sheet. And, it's clear, the bunch of players we have currently, are in it together and all want to contribute. Best bunch in terms of character, I would say since the 'Adel' season.
The only issue I felt wasn't adequately addressed was the injury problems, although all recent injuries, it was said, none are seemingly very long term at all. Whether, thats a smokescreen or not, the reality will come out, over the next few months. And the reasoning in games of the first half given to some players or sixty minutes and then preplanned substitutes are made, no matter what the situation of the game or the players performance levels. This is being done to protect against reoccurring issues.
I wait to see on that one, but all round a decent fans forum and came away from it after viewing the feed online, feeling relatively positive.
