Swansea City v Brentford
Kick off 3pm.
Wembley Stadium
EFL Championship Final

Saturday May 29th 2021

Match Officials

Chris Kavanagh is the referee chosen to officiate the EFL Championship final at Wembley.
Kavanagh will be assisted by Sian Massey-Ellis and Dan Cook. David Coote is the fourth official and Neil Davies the reserve assistant referee.

From the streets of NL.
Due to unforeseen circumstances this week the participation in this thread by the usual contributor has been lacking. It’s nothing more than being a lazy bad lad with more excuses than John Hollins.

Here it is.

To the tune of frigging in the rigging !

It was on the good ship Franky
Whose attitude is cranky
He’s got long hair and a mental stare
But he loves a right hand shandy

Their striker is called Toney
But he ain’t no Wilfried Bony
When Guehi gets ahold of him
He will disappear quite quickly

Winning in the play offs
Winning in the play offs
Winning in the play offs
It’s an easy thing to do.

When Brentford came to Swansea
They stopped for some post match bonding
Five grandads and a couple of kids
Booted them all the way to Tonypandy

Ok, let’s give them the BOLLOX !

Their away support is a pity
It’s laughable and shitty
Small time is too big for them
Cos WE ARE Swansea City !

Oh dear 🤪😂

Ticket scandal.

You’d think that because the test event was a success there may be an increase of capacity to maybe 15 k to each club? It’s an outdoor event, people are far more likely to catch covid down a local pub ffs.

And let’s not forget, Leicester was a covid hotspot for much of the pandemic. How come they’re allowed to bring 10k and not us???

We don't know if it was a success. Have cases risen because of it?

If we do manage to win on saturday (not sure im that confident), how would you compare it to 2011? I think it would be more impressive considering the squad we had back then.

Would be fantastic to see Thomas Franks face if they lose though.

In 2011 I was really confident of a win ,we played good football back then , We've got a tidy
squad now but under Cooper it's basically keep them at bay ,which is horrible to watch . ,So sat will pan out like this ... we keep the cocky ones at bay right up until the 90'th minute ,Freddie aimlessly punts it upfield as per,the wind catches it and in it goes ,job done ,god help us in the prem

I could live with that scenario

They did too.

It’s only in hindsight we realise how good that team was, and a third goal for Reading which they should have had and it would have been a different story. Anything can happen from here on.

I don’t fancy another season of Cooperball though, and that’s a fact.

Riposte is a good word.

I like a good riposte but It was trying to be kind to freddie as lifelong will be rounding up his posse to head me off at the Pass.

It is clearly a tactic by super Steve to confound the opposition but it is a unique tactic

Steve has not only confounded the opposition but his many irrational detractors on here with his ongoing, unrivalled success. EPL-bound is he.

As predicted for the semi-finals, our class on and off the pitch will yet again prevail.

Cooper now has the measure of Frank.

Grimes has the upper-hand in the middle. Guehi is a class or two above Toney. Ayew is a notch above all comers and will intimidate Raya. Woody our golden glove, solidifies our winning spine.

Grimes is so key. We won't let them swamp him this time. He'll gain the initiative in the middle and dictate our tempo. Get him in the Red Zone like saturday, score a blinder and drive the high press relentlessly. Aided and abetted by Fulton who is such the best foil for him. And his symbiotic relationship with Hourihane is the icing on our midfield three.

Onwards and upwards, as has been the mantra for the last two seasons under Cooper.

We have got into Franks head. He may well lose it on Saturday and if he does this will transmit to his team.

We were much the better side at their place. How we didn't win is a surprise. We've played them twice in the league this season and were definitely the better team by a mile in the first game.

Dean Ashton said Swansea play cup final football, and this'll prove it. Steve Cooper has been to a final and done it previously. I think he'll know how to set us up. Brentford, with that lunatic managing, have a bit of a mentality problem.

I'm not sure who'll replace Routs, but I don't think Roberts is the answer. Safe travels to all those going up, have a great day and COME ON THE SWANS!
