More likely in Warburton's case a message to the youngsters that nobody gets picked on the bench just to make up the numbers, you have to earn it. or something like that.

Only 4 subs is ridiculous. We are a top professional team and the manager doesn’t feel we have 7 players good enough to sit on the bench? Pathetic and sends out the wrong message to the u23s not included that he doesn’t rate any of them. |  | | |

Maybe, but so will half the team that is actually starting? And he has played less than most of them...that would have made more sense for Willock / Chair / Dickie etc I think.

What does he have to do to start in a low level cup game when we have loads of injuries and the manager keeps telling us the squad is exhausted. Albert has played - what? - 60 mins all season.
