Because if you see it from the other angle and slow-mo it back and forth as I have done, you can see it was going in anyway.
This is no different than someone who shoots just outside the D, it's going in and then deflects off a defender past the goalie going one way while the keeper went the other. Plenty of others seem to get credit for these goals and they are not classed as O.G.
Also, we know there is a bias against Chair scoring in the stats, as a few stats sites had him scoring fewer goals than he did last year, totally missing out on some games where he scored and it was official even. |
