Sad news that .

First time I got proper drunk was in the Rising Sun . God I was ill.

Also, Orange Goblin played their first ever ‘gig’ there on a Jam night . Played 3 songs , 2 covers (Alice In Chains and Hendrix) and then one original song .
Utterly horrific but my first ever time playing music in front of an audience.

Spent the next 26 years gigging and touring the world so it holds a special place for me .

I used to live in Sudbury in '73/'74 and would drink in a pub on the Watford Road. It's no longer there but I think it was on the corner of Stilecroft Gardens where there's now what looks like an empty car showroom. I can't remember its name - does anyone remember it?

Another failing boozer spontaneously combusts. A quick check at companies house site for the owner of the Rising Sun is interesting. Also owns an estate agency. I’m sure there’s absolutely nothing in it mind, just a very unfortunate event. [Post edited 10 Oct 2023 9:36]
