Genuine guy.
Did a good job as interim manager. X2
Promoted above his competence.
Thanks for everything Alan.

Yes obviously a nice bloke, did great as caretaker but it is a results business and his foolish attempts to tear up the system overnight to a five at the back for no reason came back to bite him on the arse.

Poll: We all dream of a managerial team of Alan Tates?

At the end of the day this is what it’s all about. I genuinely feel desperately sorry for AS, a more genuine guy you’ll be hard to find but that isn’t the criteria needed in football management.

I will applaud the club for being decisive though. Previously, this would have dragged on.

Good luck AS. I believe most people associated with the club will echo that.

there was an air of inevitability, as you say, at least it hasn't dragged on.
but 5 managers in 4 years is beginning to smack of a problem club, and there won't be many more chances to get it right before we follow the path of other clubs with that kind of turnover....

We are no different to other clubs in the Championship lose a few games and there call for the sack Southampton and Norwich in the same boat

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Yeah this exactly, despite my feelings about the football felt some sympathy at the end of the last game when the chanting started as he’s clearly a nice guy.
Had to go though and glad they pulled the trigger now firstly for us and also to get rid before the crowds got toxic

This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you."

Yes, this is a different vibe to the last two sackings.

It was pretty much universally accepted that he had to go, but there’s no ‘good riddance’ element this time, just disappointment it didn’t work out for him.

I generally don’t care what happens to players or managers when they leave us, but in this instance I hope Alan Sheehan is back in the game soon and goes on to enjoy a successful career.

Trigger pulled, I’ll close this, thanks to Rhonda as ever.
