Lampard is one of the best midfielders England has ever produced and he is proving to be a very fine manager. I'm not sure that chant served any useful purpose, especially after we had been held to a draw by 10 men.
I didn't see the incident because, like most Saints fans there, I headed straight for the exit the moment the final whistle blew. There wasn't much cause to stay and applaud. [Post edited 20 Dec 19:37]

Their players were stronger and more aggressive than ours, especially Mason-Clark, who's spent years in lower league and non-league football, where a striker has to look after himself.
Also, when crosses and corners came into the box, none of our players moved towards the ball, like theirs did. Ours just remained static and watched. It would have made more sense if we'd put in low crosses and corners instead of feeding high balls to the Coventry players, while Adam Armstrong just looked on. [Post edited 20 Dec 20:00]

Very frustrating wasn't it. That was a big opportunity missed to make up some ground against 10 men at home. We reverted back to slow, ponderous passing which doesn't really serve a purpose. In the last two games, we have stopped being really aggressive, quick, clinical and decisive. | |

Im not sure how long we can keep saying we're 'reverting' to it.
We're starting to sound like trump continuing to blame Biden for all his failures.
They aren't robots. If we start to pass slowly and negatively, surely the manager should get on the touchline and go mental. If anyone ignores him, they get hooked. It's not complicated.

If they are still being coached this way then he has to go, because we are not good at it. We played about 3 games we played quick one touch football and we reaped the rewards, just can’t figure out why we cannot keep playing that way. |  |

It's being coached and it works when the players are prepared to be all in and really run, really aggressive and work extremely hard. But when they aren't at it, when the opposition are more aggressive like Norwich and Millwall were, it doesn't work. When teams press really high, we can't get out, then again it doesn't work. Today with 10 men, Coventry just parked the bus, marked everyone up and we continued passing left and right in front of them because we don't have a target man to.aim for and the tactics are to find the perfect pass. | |

We threw everything at them and their defence was admirable, but when you have a defence as good as that and you put everyone back in their area its going to be hard to break down particularly when we lack a good Centre Forward with height.
When all we have is Archer and Downs to bring on,its going to be hard,I would have preferred to have kept Tall Paul
Have to say I love the way Saints play now they give everything with what they have,you cant ask more than that.
We probably would have had more of a chance if Coventry had 11 on the pitch,to try and break down 10 behind the ball is hard.
Would liked to have seen a fit Ross Stewart out there to day but that's just wishful thinking.

They were not bad as No2 choices.
Would be a lot easier to break down a 10 man defence if we had a target man to aim for.
As for Baz at the end that could have cost us yes,but as the saying goes 'he who dares wins'
