QPR's Allocation 22:33 - Feb 4 with 257 viewsSaintNick

Their website says the "Full" allocation is 2,385.

That is strange as it is usually 3,000, I know its an evening game, but given that we are not likely to sell out our own sections and that you can't re allocate seats in the away section to home fans, it seems strange that they are only taking 2,385

As far as I know, away clubs take an allocation of seats from the home club based on their ability to sell them and as far as I know the home club have to offer at leat two / three options to the away club. So if QPR don’t think they are capable of shifting the full 3,000 then they can request a lower amount. I am assuming that the first reduction down from the max 3,000 allocation must be 2,385. I’d assume as it is an evening game, based on previous sales, QPR feel the lower allocation is more appropriate. I have a feeling I heard somewhere that if an away club overorders and then can’t sell the max allocation they end up having to pay for the unused tickets, or is that just in the PL?

I’m surprised that they haven’t taken their full allocation, I’ll ask my QPR supporting pal about this at work tomorrow
They’ve been taking good numbers to away games this season and their home game was a sell out on Saturday, also a waiting list for season tickets
According to him Ronnie Edwards played right back on Saturday as was excellent

You are right there are these sort of arrangements in place in the Premier League, i'm not sure what the exact agreements are in the Championship, i think there is a minimum of around 10% of the ground or 2,000 , but not a clause that states a sale or return minimum etc.

Given our away section is now not movable, it's 3,000 seats unless agreed otherwise (Ie Pompey) so why QPR just dont sell 3,000 I dont know

They are probably lying to their fanbase, about it being the full allocation, so that their fans don't say why haven't they taken the full allocation.

Possibly although they might also be giving a low amount to drum up support and get people buying early, if they sell this allocation they can then look good when they announce they have secured an extra 600 tickets
