And it seems to be working. He’s even talking of leaving seven players forward! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/fo

| Good idea or madness? on 15:42 - Mar 11 with 748 views | Whiterockin | I can remember when we had a paticularly short team leaving two up front just in our half on each touchline. The opposition had to pull three back, one to mark each player and one to cover the space in the middle plus the keeper. This meant we had 8 players defending plus the keeper against their 7 attacking. I sometimes wonder why this tactic is not used more often. | | | |

Exactly, so if you leave 5 forward the opposition team needs to leave six back giving loads of space for the keeper to just come and catch it: The counter obviously would be to send your whole team forwards anyway and just play it short and use the extra numbers to create something. It’s an interesting game of cat and mouse.

It's not just our club who does it. The avoidable goals given away at this level and above is as you say madness and shocking. The ''Modern Game'' It's claimed.

Yalcouye would be ideal when he is on the pitch, pace and unpredictable.

Worked a treat for us, Jamal Lowe was high up the park the ball cleared into space which Lowe could run onto, the opposition had quick enough players to stop any forward run Lowe could make with the ball, so he turned away from goal and waited for support while reducing the defenders to a stand still, Key came up quickly in support, pass received with one touch, pasted the inert defenders and ball dispatched promptly dispatch into the goal, the advantage of have a fast forward with enough experience to know to hold the ball up to allow the break out to catch up.
