What a mistake it was not having Warburton moving up to DoF and Eustace as head coach, but this could not happen as it would appear too many bridges were burned with the leadership team at the time. I actually always enjoyed the 3 years that Warburton was in charge, yes mistakes were made and again fall aways happened, but we seemed to have standards, which totally fell away when Beale was appointed and the mess he created, which has just continued. The internal conflict that ended up with him being sacked was an absolute joke and if anyone wanted grown ups in charge of our club, he would have won out and those in charge of the youth development would have been put firmly back in their box. Aside from Eze and Chair, NONE of the development kids were anywhere near the first team and unlikely to be (just check where they all are now). The parallels with Nourry's era are there for all to see. We have to be dependent on a bunch of kids from the youth team as back up, but there are all so green, academy trained and no-where near Football League ready. Yet, the "establishment" expects a Football Coach to blend them into a competitive team. Warburton was absolutely clear in that "this lot are not good enough" and I am sure that behind the scenes, Stephan is saying the same. I mean last season's great hope, Kieran Morgan has been an utter shadow of what he promised last season. Add in Esquerdinha, Bennie, Pearman, etc. into the mix - none of them have played unless they have HAD to play. So, he and Eustace should have stayed and Ramsey, Ferdinand, etc. should have been told to up their game or go. Yet another sliding doors moment we failed to go through the right one...

I wouldn't mind seeing Warbs back as DOF. Esquerdinha and Bennie are getting too much game time, that would be better spent in L1/L2. However, they are needed to fill the gaps which are due to injuries.
