Strange game. The scoreline suggests we battered them, but we didn't. Just three great bits of play from Matty Done were the difference. I think Done is still finding his feet again, and I reckon it might take a while before we saw the Done of 2010-11 again.
I didn't think things always gelled tonight. Was said that the plan seems to be to compact the middle whilst allowing the freedom out wide, and there were signs of things coming together. The youth team "stars" of Logan, Tanser, O'Conner and Allen teamed up well, but I seem to have a bit of a downer on Allen for some reason. He's busy, got an eye for a pass and isn't afraid to get stuck in, but just think an extra yard of pace would make all the difference.
Keeper aside who's had next to nowt to do again, I'm not sure the trialists convinced anyone. Can't see us signing Vidal due to other rb's at the club, and Maynard might be worth taking a chance on if we had a pair of rock solid central defenders rather than what is still an unknown prospect. |  | | |
