Four of the next five (discounting a defeat at Rochdale) are doable. Perhaps even 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 lost. After that it gets sketchy. If this becomes an endgame scenario, not happy about who the final two opponents are. This must be sorted by when Scunthorpe is on the calendar.

What lies ahead, Colchester United ties (and Sky Blues, updated) on 13:40 - Mar 9 with 2052 views | noah4x4 | This thread focuses on the conundrum, can we secure more points than Coventry. One hopes so. But I feel many fans are overlooking a host of remaining fixtures. There are SIX crucial six pointers" remaining between the bottom five. Col U versus Crawley Col U v. Yeovil Coventry v Col U Orient v Yeovil Crawley v Orient Coventry v Orient In ANY fixture one team must 'drop' three points or BOTH 'drop' Two points (e.g draw). There are hence fewer points available to be shared by these than at first glance. Our destiny is totally in our own hands and I predict 48 points with superior goal difference will mean survival. Perhaps our biggest fear is Orient beat Yeovil and Crawley yet lose to Coventry: then the U's fail to beat the Sky Blues too. The O's are currently a point ahead with a game in hand. Frankly, we are best placed if these remaining (versus relegation rivals) Orient games are drawn (and we then win at least two of ours). Others in the bottom five have some really tough fixtures against table toppers. On paper the U's and Orient potentially have the easier run in. [Post edited 9 Mar 2015 13:51]

Being chased by a pack of wolves may be exciting also but I would prefer a walk in the park .

Noah, this is an anecdotal comparison, presently focusing on Coventry. That was edited because until further notice, the Sky Blues are the club Colchester is chasing. More edits to follow as it merits until all is done and dusted, for better or worse. Following these two tomorrow the talking point may shift considerably: Coventry v Bradford Yeovil v Bristol City Said in another thread that Orient's goal differential looked worrisome. And this weekend: Leyton Orient v Yeovil ... Not certain that a Glovers win would not be the best scenario, alas, I'm beginning to crunch numbers based on numerous scenarios. But the U's must defeat both Crawley and Yeovil ... Otherwise, another can of worms. Should have made it clear, it's not about merely the Sky Blues. Whichever club is the chase car after the weekend, we can dissect their fixtures when the time comes. Right now I'm personally more concerned about Coventry. [Post edited 9 Mar 2015 18:33]

Incredibly rare in the modern world btw, usually only if the wolves are antagonised, or sick (rabies usually). Not sure if it's ever happened to anyone whilst walking in the park though...

Whether it is the wolf nearest the sledge, or the alligator nearest the canoe, we simply have to finish 5th from bottom! Up the vertically challenged U's

What lies ahead, Colchester United ties (and Sky Blues, updated) on 14:12 - Mar 10 with 1950 views | burnsieespana | Well I for one am taking an escape from all this tension because on thursday I depart fpr a holiday that includes Cuba, Panama and Italy. When I return home on the 26th of April it will all be "done and dusted" I suspect. My worry is the gap that has opened up between the bottom five and the next group of teams as be far better if eight or nine teams scrapping for survival. Seeing the Sky Blues have just appointed Tony Mowbray I guess they will get a fillip from a new Manager so fear it is going to be mighty tough but if we can win 5/6 games we will be ok.

Agreed. My experience of wolves in the wild, admittedly not extensive, is that they turned tail and fled at a rate of knots when they became aware of me...around 200 yards away.
