He was being briefly interviewed 4 minutes into BBC's World News/GMT programme...

Wearing his COLCHESTER UNITED SHIRT!!

Yes!!

Said he was trying to get out of Kathmandu, perhaps back in a couple of days

Great to hear (and see) he is safe and well. Saw him on the BBC News at One on iPlayer. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007mpl9 - 4 mins in.

Great news but what a terrible tragedy.
Hopefully given Colchester's connection with the Army and the Ghurka's we will do something over the next two games to raise some money towards the rescue efforts.

Absolutely!

As it happens, I'm already part of the Wessex Archaeology team (on the support team) that are doing the Oxfam Trailwalker 2015 challenge ( http://www.oxfam.org.uk/trailwalker/the-challenge ), which is organised each year by the Gurkhas. The walkers comprise a Business Manager, Built Heritage specialist, Geoarchaeologist and Senior Fieldwork Director, supported by the Chief Executive, Regional Manager South (me), Project Manager and Project Officer.

We signed up for this a month or so ago, but what's happened in Nepal really does bring home what the fund-raising will go to support. The challenge is to cover 100km across the South Downs within 30 hours, from the morning of Saturday 25th July overnight into the afternoon of Sunday 26th July.

I've put the link below to our fund-raising page, if anyone feels able to support us.

Very good news, the tragic scenes in Nepal brings the focus firmly away from banal issues like relegation.

I can't get over the fact Noah was wearing his ColU shirt.

I literally first did a double-take, then saw the screen identified him as Phil, because I noticed the blue and white stripes and then the Colchester crest

anyway, prayers go out to all affected.

We expect an incredible report from Noah once he is back in a day or so.

Good news regarding Noah.

What a world we live technologically in where our friend in the US is watching the BBC and spots an interview with our friend from Colchester in Nepal.

I know, right?

I'm guessing you never thought you'd write a sentence like that for any reason

So glad he's okay. Probably the last clean shirt he had left, the U's

But seriously. He better give us one of those patented reports once he touches down on English soil.

Must have been a harrowing experience.

While not wanting to deter people from sponsoring Wessex, this is a timely opportunity to highlight that the Disasters Emergency Committee are running a Nepal campaign.
