Sadly Gerry mid table mediocrity is the very best we can hope to achieve this season. Tonight also sums up our wretched season. The only way is up. Up the U's

Tin pot Trophy... on 21:42 - Dec 5 with 2396 views | noah4x4 | Just home. Can it get any worse? Smith, utterly calamitous. Greenidge, OK going forward, but can't defend for toffee. Tovide and Bradley, it seems that neither can beat a defender without fouling him. Chilvers, an enigma. Hopper, an enigma variation. Jay, showed glimpses of why he must start on Saturday instead of Chilvers. Etherington must sort this out before Saturday, else fans will be voting with their wallets. The ground (barely 10% full) rapidly emptied after goal three. An experienced new manager is required before the next transfer window.

Good to see reasonably positive comments about Jay. Big question is whether ME has the balls to start him Saturday | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Tin pot Trophy... on 22:42 - Dec 5 with 2339 views | Daniel | Tonight's result makes is 21 goals conceded by Smith in 6 games. I really hope we have a recall clause on Hornby's loan and that someone decides to execute it!

Priority is to sign an experienced keeper on 1st January as not totally convinced Hornby is the solution. Do feel Smaith should have gone on loan rather than Hornby though. Sad to say ME doesn't seem to have a clue in which direction to go.

Hornby has let in 10 in three matches for Solihull Moors so it's not going great for him either. Smith looks shot to bits and the defence obviously have no confidence in him, that was plain to see last night. Smith only conceded four in the six games that he played at the end of last season but looks a different keeper right now. I think the Tottenham U21's game coupled with the mistakes he made in the Forest Green game have left him totally bereft of confidence and belief. I agree with the above that it was probably him that should've gone out on loan and not Hornby.
