WEST HAM 1 MANCHESTER UNITED 3
United came from behind to win again and have now won their first five away games in a league campaign for the first time since 1985-86. United have now won more points from losing positions than any other team in Premier League history (385). 2 got this spot-on, and a further 10 had the outcome.
BRENTFORD 2 BLACKBURN 2
Brentford are now unbeaten in nine, as 10-man Blackburn get a shock 87th minute equaliser, and score with their only two shots on target. Well done to durham_exile for being the only one to have this spot-on, and just RSCOSWORTH got the outcome. The other 25 predicted a win for Brentford.
COVENTRY 3 ROTHERHAM 1
Rotherham had not lost an away game to Coventry in more than 18 years, but they were well beaten today. Nobody got this spot-on, but 22 did have the outcome with 12 going for a 1-0 in what was the weeks most predicted score.
STOKE 1 MIDDLESBROUGH 0
Stoke moved up to fifth in the Championship as a header from Nathan Collins proved enough for them to claim back-to-back 1-0 wins and their third consecutive clean sheet. A magnificent 7 had this spot-on, and another 19 got the outcome.
FLEETWOOD 0 BLACKPOOL 1
Gary Madine's early goal proved to be enough as Blackpool edged a narrow victory in the Fylde Coast derby at Fleetwood. Blackpool got a fifth win in six league games, and an eighth in nine in all competitions. This good form was overlooked by most members as unitedwhites did well to be the only one to get this spot-on, and just 2 had the outcome. 18 predicted a win for Fleetwood.
PORTSMOUTH 2 PETERBOROUGH 0
Tom Naylor scored a stunning long-range goal as Portsmouth swept aside their fellow League One promotion hopefuls. A decent 6 had this spot-on, and a further 15 got the outcome.
BOLTON 3 PORT VALE 6
An absolutely incredible scoreline as Bolton had won their previous 5 games, and Vale had lost their last 5 games. The last time Bolton conceded as many at home was when losing a Premier League game 6-0 to Manchester United in February 1996. It goes without saying nobody got this spot-on, and only 2 had the outcome. 22 predicted a win for Bolton.
COLCHESTER 2 GRIMSBY 1
Colchester take their unbeaten home record to 8, as they moved to within a point of the play-offs. A very decent 9 had this spot-on, and another 13 got the outcome.
HARROGATE 0 FOREST GREEN 1
Jamille Matt's seventh league goal of the season made sure Harrogate extended their run without a home victory to a fifth game in all competitions, matching it the club's worst sequence since 2012. A decent 6 got this spot-on, and a further 14 had the outcome.
TRANMERE 1 WALSALL 3
It was a miserable return for Tranmere fans as they saw their side slump to a first defeat in 9 games. No points for anybody from this game, as 21 predicted a win for Tranmere.
It was good to have fans back into the stadiums again, but it will not be back to full capacity until we have all had the vaccine, and we go into the Tier 0, that the likes of Dominic Cummings and Rita Ora are in. Even though there was only a maximum 2,000 at games, from the reports I heard they created a good atmosphere.
We had fans at 6 of our 10 games this week, and results suggest their presence didn't make much difference, as only 2 won, with one of them being Colchester, who are undefeated at home anyway. Overall it was another mixed bag of results, with the good things Brentford, Fleetwood, Bolton and Tranmere, all failing to deliver. But the other 6 games made up for that in a big way, and in the end we got a decent 32 spot-ons. This weeks fixtures were picked by sevebalo, and he took full advantage of that by having four 3 pointers, the wins for Stoke, Portsmouth, Colchester and Forest Green. With one outcome as well he got a brilliant 13 points, and is this weeks top scorer. This is the second time this season he has had four 3 pointers, after also achieving it in Week 1. A good week also for durham_exile, as he had three 3 pointers, the wins for Man Utd and Portsmouth to go with his good Brentford 2-2 pick, and three outcomes, to give him an excellent 12 points. Four members did well to have two 3 pointers, the best of which came from thrillseeker, who had the wins for Portsmouth and Colchester, to give him a very decent 9 points. A special mention for gsy163, who had the Forest Green 1-0 spot-on, and an impressive six outcomes, that included the Blackpool and Port Vale ones, to give him a very decent 9 points.
Champions League Just 4 weeks and 32 games to go now before we know this seasons qualifiers. The member currently in that eleventh and final qualifying spot is wessex_exile with his 70 points.
Happy Cup The draw for the FA Cup 3rd Round has been made, but they still haven't decided what live games are going to be shown. Once that has been sorted the fixtures for the Group stage third and final round will appear on the Happy Cup thread.
In the Premier That decent week for thrillseeker increased his lead by a point, as mfb_cufc had to settle for just having the Stoke 1-0 spot-on, and five outcomes. The final Charity Shield spot is still held by TheFatGooner, as he also got the Stoke 1-0 spot-on. The only change in this division has sevebalo moving up four places into fourth, after his top scoring performance. Only 5 points separate the top half, as they create a 6 point gap to the bottom half. Everybody in tis division got a 3 pointer this week. Something I can never remember happening before in one league. It was a welcome 3 pointer for noah4x4, the Stoke 1-0, but after 106 games in his record breaking season in 2019/20, he had 94 points with 20 spot-ons. He only has one less outcome, but the big difference is being 8 spot-ons less. Two 3 pointers, the wins for Stoke and Portsmouth, has moved Sector4 a bit further away from the relegation zone. Two 3 pointers also for RSCOSWORTH, the wins for Colchester and Forest Green, moves him no nearer to safety, but he closes in on the two above him.
In Division One Having the Forest Green 1-0 spot-on, that gave concordman at least one 3 pointer for the sixth week running, helped to increase his lead to a healthy 9 points. It is now 5 weeks without a 3 pointer for ghughes11, but an impressive 6 outcomes were enough for him to maintain the other automatic spot. Though the gap back to the third unitedwhites is just one point now. The play-off places remain the same for the fourth week running, but the excellent week for durham_exile, that has also seen him have at least one 3 pointer for the last 6 weeks, moved him up a couple of places into fourth, and just 3 points from the automatics. The 2 spot-ons for Lewis_1, the wins for Portsmouth and Colchester, moved him up a couple of places as well. The only other change in this league has gsy163 moving up two places.
