City kept their sixth successive clean sheet since losing at Tottenham in November with this dull bore draw. Nobody got this spot-on, but 6 did have the outcome.
WYCOMBE 1 COVENTRY 2
Coventry stretch their unbeaten run to 7 games with this narrow win. 5 had this spot-on, and a further 11 got the outcome.
LINCOLN 0 SUNDERLAND 4
Sunderland thrashed Lincoln to secure their first league win under new manager Lee Johnson, and remain unbeaten away from home. Nobody got this spot-on, though 9 did have the outcome. 16 predicted a win for Lincoln with 10 going for a 2-1 in what was equally the most predicted score this week.
WIGAN 4 ACCRINGTON 3
Wigan get back to back wins, but almost throw this one away after leading 3-0. Not surprisingly nobody had this spot-on, but 11 did get the outcome. The other 16 predicted a win for Accrington, as incredibly nobody predicted a draw for this game.
OLDHAM 3 BRADFORD CITY 1
Oldham notched a fourth win in five league games, while Bradford's sixth straight defeat leaves them hovering just above the drop zone. Bradford have sacked manager Stuart McCall and assistant Kenny Black after six defeats in a row. Again no 3 pointer for anybody here, though 23 did have the outcome with 10 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks other most predicted score.
SALFORD 0 CHELTENHAM 0
Salford preserved their unbeaten home record but had to withstand a barrage of pressure from Cheltenham in this bore draw. The final game this week to have no 3 pointer, but 8 did have the outcome.
This week showed just how difficult it can be to get those important 3 pointers, with only Coventry saving the week from not having one. Their 2-1 win means that remains the top result for an away win this season with 12. The top result for a home win is also the 2-1 with 12. The 1-1 has had a poor return so far this season, and it is now 47 games since we last had one in Week 8. At least we had plenty of outcomes, and they got points for almost everyone. The best performance from the 5 who had the Coventry 2-1 spot-on came from Sector4, as he also had 4 outcomes, to make him the weeks top scorer with a very decent 7 points.
Happy Cup The fixtures for the Group stage Round 3 will be on the separate Happy Cup thread later this evening. The games don't take place until the 9th January, so there is plenty of time to make your predictions.
Champions League Just 3 weeks and 26 games to go now before we know who this seasons qualifiers are. The member in that eleventh and final qualifying spot is still wessex_exile with his 74 points. He has improved his chance from last week of making his own competition, as he now has 2 points in hand of his nearest pursuers.
In the Premier The top half of this division had to settle for just getting outcomes this week, and the end result was that thillseeker remains top, and mfb_cufc reduced his lead to one point. After getting an impressive 5 outcomes sevebalo moves up a place into the final Charity Shield spot. A rare blank week for TheFatGooner has him dropping three places, but still only 6 points from the top. The top scoring performance from Sector4 moved him up a couple of places. The only other member to get the Coventry 2-1 spot-on in this division was gerry_us. Not enough to get him out of the relegation zone, but he moves a bit nearer to safety, with current champ noah4x4 now in his sights.
In Division One The run of at least one 3 pointer for the last six weeks comes to an end for concordman, but two outcomes were enough to keep him comfortably top. Up into the other automatic spot is unitedwhites, after being one of the five to have the Coventry 2-1 spot-on. That means the 13 week stay in the top two for ghughes11 comes to an end, as he makes it six weeks without a 3 pointer. The run of six weeks with at least one 3 pointer also came to an end for durham_exile, but his four outcomes kept him well in contention for an automatic spot. Four outcomes also for wessex_exile moved him up a place, as the top six has the same members for he fifth week running. Having the Coventry 2-1 spot-on moved burnsieespana up a place, and within 2 points of the play-offs. The other member to get the Coventry 2-1 spot-on was GOSBTS, as he added it to his impressive number of 3 pointers.
