Great win and major relief! Playing Elyounoussi and Adams was a major mistake as they offered little as usual, but the team fought for every ball and the defence looked much more solid. Suddenly most of our balls go forward instead of sideways and back...I like the new impetus. We can build on this. JWP is a genius.

Only listened on the radio, but they thought Adams played very well, don't know who was right? Brilliant win and it seems silly to critisise anyone this week, 3 great wins and things are starting to look more hopeful, still a lot of work to be done. But we have a decent chance now, with any luck it's onwards and upwards from now on.
Can't wait to see what "I would " has to say about this?

Toe to Toe with a similar team , though they have spent about £200,000,000 more than us. Our team spirit got us through, The manager might just be ok the way they celebrated with him . Feeling optimistic about our chances.

What, no I_would first to post (like normal) with his anti-JWP bollix?!?! I wonder why. Not for the first time he's done a Lord Lucan I see.

Terrific 3 points which, after all, was what it was all about. Keeps us well in touch with the clubs around us. A loss today would have been devastating. Can't praise Ward-Prowse highly enough for two excellent, top drawer goals. I'm starting to believe in 'Jesus Jones' after 3 great wins in a week!

Keep it up Saints. We might get out of this mess yet!

Brilliant result considering that's the first league win there since 1997.
Coming off the back of a dominant victory against Man City!
We can all see that the players and manager are all singing from the same songsheet and NJ has realised we're a better team with 4 at the back and 2 cdms with JPW in the advanced role .
He was wasted in the latter days under Ralph, he's always been a guy with the ability to score goals from midfield and for a team that was clearly lacking a goal threat to play him in a defensive role was baffling.
Adams did well for the assist but we really need that extra goal threat .
Let's get that striker in asap as he'll be coming into a squad that's now got belief and confidence.

Good movement, shimmy and accurate side foot for first goal. (Why first goal like it all season?) Second goal obvious mistake by Pickford being all over one side with no one on the post.
We won the the game due to poor opposition bereft of confidence and not due to NJ choosing the ever useless Moi or the never-shoot-straight Adams in the starting 11. Why muck about with the team that played well against MC? Still, I suppose there's a lot to be said for having a lucky manager.

@ I_would can’t you just enjoy the fact that the player who will score the most premier league free kicks of all time currently plays for SFC?
And to say that Pickford should have had someone on the post just shows your ignorance. Haven’t you heard of offside? Didn’t you see the 96th minute equaliser Brighton scored against us when McCarthy called JWP back??

A bloody long way to go to get out of this crap situation and we'll need several wins to enjoy the actual football again.

Ralph should have gone in the summer (as much as he was liked and respected by long on the tooth saints fans) but under the circumstances this Jones bloke has done something very strange in the last couple of weeks which has been missing for a long time.

I can understand people's frustration with certain players but not with JWP as he's a club player who could have taken the easy option and bigger pay day over the past 5-6 seasons but he's stayed. Being a captain isn't just about bursting a blood vessel and shouting it's about sacrifice and leading by example - and if you're particularly talented that's a bonus. If I was in the cart I'd want him in it too.

I'll always love my club but I'm also proud today - hopefully the board continue supporting this manager unlike they did Ralph over subsequent seasons and we retain the league status with a cup run attached.

Together as one

A good performance overall, still a bit slack at times in defensive play (defence through midfield) and gave the ball away a bit too often. However pretty solid across the back line, when defending, apart from one corner. JWP is now showing what a good player he can be when the restraints are lifted, something I'm sure a vast amount of us knew. I seriously believe playing as the club required cost him his world cup place as he's a true club man.
Edozie needs games as does Alcaraz but the effort was there for all to see, Che played well with his hold up play but really needs to develop a ruthless streak, I'm sure there are goals there, somewhere. AA showed how much he offers this team when he came on, his work rate is amazing. And although he has more than one mistake in him Lyanco exudes enthusiasm, whilst Caletta Car looks silky & Salisu solid. Looking good at present, lets carry it into the next few games!
