Just seen on news that Russian tanks have gone into Ukraine again. Presuming it does not escalate too much surely the time has come for FIFA to review the decision to host the world cup in a racist , homophobic country. Wondering whether it is Putin's ball though?

The Rouble is crashing and to help stabilise it the Russian Central Bank looks like they will hike interest rates again, which won't work when foreign investors and companies are losing all faith and trust in Putin and his government. You are witnessing the end game now, China will replace the dollar with the yuan as the worlds reserve currency potentially within months. This is WW3 and China will win it without firing a shot. China and their Russian muscle will create a better world free from central bankers and their printing presses. Russia's economy is in pain but not half as much as Americas and their Western Allies will be by the end of 2015 IMO.

If there was a conventional war between East and West (no nukes) it would be over in about 36 hours. That's how long it would take the USA to have air superiority over Beijing. It wouldn't be a war - it would be a walkover.
