I have it on in the car all the time . Disagree 99% with James O Brien but he makes me think about the other point of view . Nick Abbot on Fri Sat night is very funny . Steve Allen early morning entertains the passengers on the early airport runs .
Used to love it when I lived over there. Must look up their podcasts.
Thanks for the tip.
Brian, download the Tunein Radio app and you'll be able to listen to LBC and pretty much any other radio station of your choice at any time. Talking about Podcasts I now download regularly the Two Mikes podcast on Talksport. Mike Graham and Mike 'Porky' Parry, two and a bit hours of two middle aged buffoons waxing lyrical about the world, giving old stories about their time in journalism, winding each other up and trading insults. 100% daft, but worth the listen.
Listen to it most mornings at work..Love Ferrari but cant stand that smug tw*t O'Brien.
Ferrari is the smuggest tosspot of all.
James O'Brien predominantly stands up for the working man. That utter ponce Boris Johnson refuses to appear on James O'Bs show coz he knows that he's no match for him.
I live in the Caribbean (I know, I know) but listen to James O'Brien on line every day. Unlike most of my comrades on here I think he's a geezer. The way he's destroyed that tw-at Farage and IDS amongst others makes him, I think, the best political interviewer in the UK today. I so hope he gets the question time gig when yer man retires.

I used to listen to talkSPORT all the time but over the last few months, it all began to grate on me a bit with Bobby Gould's high pitched screeching on a Friday night and Andy Goldstein forever just shouting at Jason Cundy, " JAY!! ...JAY!! ...JAY!!! " Adrian Durham Jason Cundy and Ian Danter are great to listen to for Sports chat, but also sadly I now even find Micky Quinn and Georgie Binghams Breakfast show to now be a bit stale. However, After changing channels to LBC and the brilliant likes of Ian Collins, Nick Ferrarri, Ian Dale , Nick Abbott and Katie Hopkins are all a very interesting listen rather than all that talkSPORT hot air. The only LBC Presenter that I don't listen to sadly is james O'Brien. He is a very clever man and has a smart tactic of forever interrupting and butting in with little comments with his callers so as to throw them off track if he feels that they are not talking the same views as his or he may be losing the arguement. A very clever thing that.

Spot on about O'Brien. He cant stand to lose an argument and regularly talks over, fades out or just mutes a caller. There isnt one of his shows that doesnt include the word "Fascist!!" , "discombobulate" or him telling you that he's 44 years old and loves Jamie Oliver. Blokes the supreme social justice anti-fascist warrior of all time and a complete chuntering self absorbed c*nt. I find myself switching over for his 3 hour segments and coming back to LBC at 1pm more often than not nowadays as i cant stand his 15 minute intro's to every subject and his yoghurt knitting left wing claptrap. Him and his missus are both champagne socialists and part of the Chiswick Metropolitan Elite.
Listened all day long when I lived in the UK, remember Dougie Cameron(?) and someone, an argumentative Aussie and a very funny bloke called Mike from 3pm on through drive time, ex motoring journalist, his comments on motoring were hijacked by some bloke called Clarkson. Oh, the name Mike Dickens has suddenly sprung to mind, maybe that's who he was?
Get bored of Talk Sport's constant Premiership love fest so have LBC on most days.
Nick Ferrari is a bit of a right wing Tory and James O Brien is a Yogurt knitting liberal lefty who always stands up for immigration but its a good listen most of the time and Mystery hour on a Thursday is probably the best hours radio all week.
Although on a Sunday at 12.05pm on Radio 4 i do love a bit of Just a minute.
Follow the link if you have a spare half hour....Very funny

I think that's the first time I've ever heard someone call someone else a c*nt for having the audacity to oppose fascism. It's certainly a bold stance given we're not in 1940s Germany. Have you always been a fan of fascism?
I'm also intruiged to hear more about this Chiswick Metropolitan Elite. Is this a longstanding organisation?
I used to listen to LBC years ago when I was living near London and also around its inception in the mid 70's. I believe it was one of the first independent radio stations. I used to listen on Sunday nights to a gruff Jewish presenter called Monty Maudlin [ or something like that], who was a bit old fashioned but a bit of a cult figure at the time. I also liked Brian Hayes and his caustic ways of dealing with idiot callers, a presenter ahead of his time. It's good to know Steve Allen is still presenting. Living in Ireland now, I can still pick it up on one of my digital radios. Must have a proper listen in sometime.
Haven't listened to it since the late 70's on medium wave, usually Dominic Foley's football preview, in the car on the way to Loftus Rd.
These days, I listen to BBC London, mainly Robert Elms and since he moved back to 10 till 1, Planet Rock in the afternoons and on Sundays. Not very keen on phone in shows.
