Is the answer 'Welcome aboard and your clique membership card is in the post'?

Pretty sure everyone knows what 'smac' stands for.

I remember the days when being in the Cambridge clique was more than enough. Is that not good enough now?

Chris without wanting to quarrel, there is a definite clique on here and maybe the reason you cant see it is maybe you are part of it. I'm sure others that are part of the clique will be along shortly to say there is no clique.

I don't know if you are right about that or not - the only way we'll know is if one of you claiming there is a clique start to name names.

I don't think hills reaction came from the shouting of 'at last' but from the singing of 'hallelujah'. Maybe it was a combination of both. Whatever, that reaction to the goal was uncalled for in my opinion.
Interesting you should raise the point about hilly shouting at certain players. Whether it was because the stand we were in was sparsely populated but some of the stick he was giving one player in particular was quite noticeable. It's possible that some players may respond better to this sort of 'encouragement' but I found it a a bit uncomfortable listening to it, especially as it was aimed at one of the younger players.

What a bizarre thread this has turned into.

Anyway, was the singled out player who received the majority of the abuse Cannon by any chance?

He may have been the second player that was mentioned by another poster, I'm not sure. But the player that seemed to be receiving most 'abuse' was young Morley.
I'm not saying that it is right or wrong in the football world for a manager to 'encourage' players in this way, however, I just thought it a bit over the top.

He was heavily involved in the game in the first half and did well in the face of some hefty challenges, particularly from Wes Burns.

In the second half he was hardly involved as most of Dale's play went through the middle or up the left.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

This all chimes with the plot summary for a recent TV series.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6563112/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl

"Childhood soulmates George and Henry are only a few weeks into the so-called best years of their lives supporting the Dale and posting on a fans forum, when George gets drawn into the elite clique of posters, led by Fitzochris. Fitzochris’ brand of posting is alluring, just like the circle of bright posters he surrounds himself with. George's effortless entry into the clique leaves Henry out in the cold. But Henry's jealousy soon escalates to panic as George begins acting erratically. Alarmed by this transformation in his best friend, Henry is compelled to follow him into Fitzochris’ closely guarded circle. What he discovers is a seductive world of lavish parties, populated by the Dale’s highest-powered supporters. But it's a world underpinned by sordid compromise, and as Henry exposes its deeply corrupt core, the danger mounts from all angles, for him and George. Can Henry reclaim his soulmate? And at what cost to himself?"

PS - remembered what the third characteristic of my posts was. Taking the piss.

A cracking plot smaclad have you got a full list of characters? we could cast them on here. Obviously Fitzochris will play himself and TVOS is a shoe in for George, just need someone to play Henry it could be anyone of the kiss arses on here although Chalky fits the bill perfectly he's been desperate for years to be accepted.

The hole in that idea is that Fitzo and I have never actually met each other and I doubt I'd know him if I saw him at Spotland, unless he was carrying a banner which read 'Learn About Random Jocks Here!'

In fact, why I've been mentioned is a mystery, as my only posts on this thread have been about last night's game and Dave Sutton.
