As I recall he has gone 2 up front, Dykes and Bonne towards the end of games, moved BOS to striker, and used 3 up front at least once, all without success. BOS is no striker.
I'd like to see him start 3 5 2, I'd like to see BOS tried as a WB, but when we barely have 1 usable striker in Dykes, I can see why Warburton doesnt play that way.now.
Exactly. When he has recently gone with two up front it's been at the expense of a midfielder.
Agree completely that BOS is no striker.

Yes that would be interesting if I wasn't a Queens Park Rangers supporter. Imagine him trying to run the ball out from the corner flag, head down, bumbling along never totally in control of the ball, refusing to pass to anyone until he loses possession on 9 out of 10 occasions.

BOS shouldn't be a sacred cow. He's our best player bar Chair, he's absolutely lethal when he's in the mood, he destroyed Rotherham, I certainly wouldn't be in a hurry to drop him. But... he's played a lot of football, clearly they're managing a groin injury, he's not played particularly well since Rotherham, and he's actively looking to leave the club with all the Scott Sinclair-style pull outs and third gear that comes with that. One of the worst bits of Saturday for me was a bit in the second half when we got him the ball on halfway, he had one isolated 34-year-old full back in front of him, he had literally half a field of grass beyond, and I was just waiting for the Maxime Colin treatment all over again, and he stopped and came back inside with a nothing pass. Maybe he's managing an injury there, knows if he opens up he'll pull it and he'll be out, maybe he doesn't want to risk it because it'll jeopardise a January move, and maybe he can't be arsed, but whichever one it is that's not good for the team.

Drop him.
It’s not like we don’t have an able replacement in Adomah. I’m convinced Adomah is better suited for Dykes too.
BOS simply isn’t playing well enough to keep his spot. Nothing else matters for now.

Have you not been slightly concerned by Adomah's recent performances? I know he's not getting many minutes, in and out of the team etc., but I think he's been desperately poor when used over the last month, bar the first ten mins v Stoke.

For me it is largely about a chronic lack of confidence that we are suffering from at the minute. Confidence is key at any level. Just take Firmino for example, top player, but couldn't buy a goal for the best part of a year. As a result he began to either try too hard or bottle out of goal scoring chances. Sores a couple of standard headed goals recently and suddenly he is transformed. Both goals v Palace were sublime and done instinctively, no way would he have even attempted the dink over the Palace keeper from such an acute angle a month ago. Its the same with us and it won't be cured overnight, we need to grind out a couple more draws (0-0 then so be it) over the next few games before gradually getting our confidence back and improving to a higher standard

What are the expectations. Realistic/hopeful/stupidly optimistic.

Lack of match sharpness entirely of Warburton’s own making. His first few showings (Bournemouth away, first half at Barnsley) were very encouraging. He’s not looked great the last two showings because he’s barely been on the pitch the last 6 weeks.
With game time he’ll get better. He was good enough at the start. His final ball is miles better than BOS’s or Chair’s. He also delivers it earlier, which I think Dykes needs.

BOS as a wing back!

Yes, right I was just dreaming about the BOS we used to see defending, fighting for the ball, holding it with his stength and skill, and then exploding out of the stops up the wing, and making or scoring. Not the disinterested copy of him we saw Saturday, and too many days this season.

IWe shouldn't give up now. We are a team that tries at least to play football in a dire Championship. It is not easy against physical teams hoofing the ball forward to heavyweight boxers. Warbs style will develop players and create results in the long run. It follows our best traditions back to Sexton (the manager at QPR when I fell in love with the greatest club in the world). We have limited options forward so we don't get goals. We don't let in much goals either! We don't get the results for now, but we shouldn't go down. But we will go down, I think, if we sack the manager and change the style to direct and physical in order to survive. I really fear for the club if we sack the manager after a predicted poor run of results. Stay!

tbh regardless of my own opinion, it's over for Warbs. Fans have started to turn, the results aren't great and only a very few elite managers can turn these kind of situations. It becomes a regressive issue cos once you've decided he should go, only takes one bad result in 3 to reinforce that.
I thought we should sack McLaren before the tranfers window closed. There was a turn around, but the moment results turned back didn't take much for me to hold up that same opinion.
These positions have a momentum that is unstoppable tbh. It's a matter of time imo

I've changed from Go to Stay. I've been delighted with our performances since changing formation. Really happy for Warburton, he's completely turned it around.

Changed from stay to go. Clueless. FOR GOD'S SAKE JUST GO NOW! Ah we're a fickle bunch. Just as well he is blissfully unaware of us 'keyboard warriors'
