Who are we having then? Blackpool currently in control at Oxford in the L1 playoffs, but in the ones that matter to us we have:

L2:
Newport v Forest Green tonight
Tranmere v Morecambe on Thursday

I'd really love Morecambe to do it but I do like our trips there. I think anyone but Tranmere really, purely because their fans have a bit of the ridiculousness about them. Although they'll probably be the strongest of the four next season.

NL:
With a few games still to go there are any number of permutations, but there will be 7 teams fighting for a place in League Two, and they could be any 7 from Sutton, Torquay, Stockport, Hartlepool, Wrexham, Notts Chalky, Chesterfield, Bromley, Halifax and Eastleigh.

It's looking like it'll probably be Sutton coming up automatically, and in the playoffs I'd love it if Halifax could do it but their wheels have come off a bit. Anyone but Stockport. Let their fans suffer a bit more. Wrexham would be nice.

Brentford in the premierr league..another team we once played on a regular basis to go with wimbledon, swindon, bournemouth, bradford city, barnsley, wigan, swansea, oldham.....

Yes a club surrounded by premier league teams...never hear them referred to as little brentford.

Oh for a board that looks forward with ambition instead of looking back with excuses.

Putting aside anything else for a moment, in over forty season we’ve faced Brentford in five of them.

There is no comparison at all.

Not to mention all the investment in the club, new stadium, very rich owner and making millions selling the likes of Watkins and Benrahma in the last 12 months. (And Scott Hogan before them, as well as others I've forgotten about).

We might as well have been compared to Bournemouth.

The point is they didnt have anew stadium and a very rich owner when we played them regularly,

while we might not have had a new stadium, three sides of the ground have been developed with new stands over the years.

We've played them 16 times at home in our entire history. Hardly regular

Surely the point is that they've got those things now?

I said we once played on a regular basis, not throuhoutour history. 7 times in 10 years seems regular to me. Not sure how many other teams we played more often during that 10 year period..

Lets hope whoever ends up as the board of directors this week and beyond have some ambition and dont feel constrained by our past.We are about to mark 100 years in the football league without ever having made the top two divisions. No one else can make such a claim though Exeter might join us in a few years.

A few other teams we used to play on a regular basis, all of whom had greater local support than us, and most of them nearby, include Stockport, Bury, Chester, Wrexham, York, Halifax. The list is substantially larger if you go a little further away. Up to date it’s been the quality and commitment of our board that’s kept us where we are. Unfortunately that no longer seems to be the case.

Newport v Morecambe been very even overall propably had a half each.

The quality hasn't been great though. Expect the winner to be bottom of the league next year.

As I type penalty to Morecambe.

Add Morcambe to the list of clubs cheating their way to a promotion.

A bit harsh that - neither team looked great and both would struggle in League One with that football. But the ref was poor for somebody with so much experience. That game needed VAR

Anyway, good luck to Morecambe. Just a pity that's one less NW club that we will be playing

But what if any cheating does occur should they turn a blind eye?

The thing is James certain Daley's on here forget that to cheat means that a person or persons DELIBERATELY tried to gain advantage by unfair means

Not sure…

…but Adams is heavily linked with Bradford. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a club with Morecambe’s resources look to somebody like Hilly.

Given Bradford appointing the dreadful McCall several times, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them appoint Hilly either
