One of EEL’s issues last season was the attention he got being captain. There’s no reason to say he’ll suddenly become the player we saw in his first spell, but reducing unnecessary pressure would certainly help.

I'd urge anybody to watch the home game with Doncaster last season if they can. Adam Clayton played that game and I remember remarking to my friend just how little he actually moved. Infact it was so poor, I couldn't help but watch him more than the game itself.
I thought we were playing a high tempo, pressing game? Clayton simply won't be able to do that. Impressive pedigree for sure but if your legs don't allow you to run anymore.
I remember Rob Lee playing at Spotland for Wycombe when he was about 40. He couldn't run either but dictated the game from the middle of the park, we have to hope Clayton can so similar but I'd be very surprised to see him shutting people down and being in their faces. | | | |

Most of the comments I've seen from Bradford fans are basically along the lines of - his legs have gone but will still do a job for us, good signing. |  |

I really hope you're right.
Personally I'm not convinced - seems a bit of a journeyman coming to the end of his career and going down the leagues and he still hasn't found what he's looking for (sorry - couldn't resist).
Still, lets see what he can do - if his legs have gone as some say, lets hope he can control the game from the midfield and help to develop the younger less experienced players. | |
