Football - have a season ticket at Rangers, but outside of that, cup finals and international tournaments I don't really watch that much of it. Always been crap at it so have never really played
Rugby - played from the age of 15 until about 5 years ago where I just couldn't hack it anymore. Watch all Ireland internationals and try to get tickets to one each year, usually away as its easier. Catch the European Cup when I can too
Cricket - played it in a park league in East London since 2010. Try to go to a test each summer - Trent Bridge for the Windies this year!
Darts - captain a work team in a Monday night league. We're dreadful but it's good craic
Horse racing - sport of kings, I love it, especially the jumps. Try to get to at least one day of Cheltenham and Leopardstown at Christmas. |  | | |

Golf
Lucky to find a group of old boys who play every Wednesday morning all over east London and Essex.
A mixture of West Ham , Man Utd and Arsenal fans the football banter is brilliant . One guy does all the organising , booking the tee times and lunch pubs , just get a whats app with a handicap update and turn up.
Most have had some health issues and have got some real support from the group over the years. Our annual cup (dented) competition and Christmas hats and Jumpers week are the highlights of the year .
We play for a quid and the discussions about who owes what often take longer than the round itself. Its like being in an episode of Last of The Summer Wine some weeks. |  | | |

Cricket, Test level mainly. Been to virtually every Test ground in England and more than a handful abroad.
Golf, mostly the Majors, but it's the last sport I play to a decent level.
Football used to be 1, but probably 3rd now. Mostly QPR, then FA Cup Final & England Tournaments. I don't watch Premier League unless it happens to be on in the pub, haven't watch MotD since we were last in that Cash Cow of egotistical, cheating tosseurs.
Fondness for watching Tennis (Majors), Darts, Snooker (Ronnie mainly), Pool, NFL, NHL, Athletics, Rugby (6 nations & WC only) and recently, Curling.
Virtually no interest in F1, Boxing/Wrestling, Horses and many many more pastimes.

I used to go to every Oval test (all 5 days) but it got so expensive I jacked that in.
Also really love Wimbledon but I don’t watch any other tennis. In my younger days I would queue up to get in.
During a 2 year stint of going to the US a lot I discovered baseball. Now that is a game I could watch a lot.
No interest in Formula 1, NFL or NBA. Golf-there was a time when I played twice a week. It got too time consuming. Now the professional game is a joke. Sky TV and Saudi sportswashing. Ughhh. As for boxing—should be banned globally. | | | |

Watching:
- Cricket, especially T20 games. The IPL scaled new heights this season, certainly in terms of the batting, with some astonishing onslaughts, although the knock-out games were more cagey.
- Cycling, particularly the grand tours. In my youth, I cycled up Mont Ventoux and some other big passes in France and Switzerland, so watching riders slog up the big climbs brings back great memories.
- Table tennis. I love it, but my favourite player is a bit of an oddity in the game. That player is the Han Ying, she plays for Germany and has a very defensive style, playing almost countless defensive shots laden with backspin. However, as soon as her opponent ups the speed with smashes, she responds with superb smashes of her own. Very curious, but effective.
- Snowboarding. I used to snowboard but was never more than mediocre - I was too cautious, especially after I broke my wrist in five places, groan  . I find the fluid motion of boarders doing linked turns down a slope very aesthetically pleasing.
Participating:
- Table tennis. I used to be pretty good 30 years ago and having given up football at the age of 58, I have thrown myself back into TT. I play twice a week (circa 2.5 hours) but will probably increase that as I improve. I'm really pushing myself and watch a lot of coaching videos.
- Cycling. I do still get out on my bike but nowhere near as much as I used to. I really need to do more of it, although I do a lot of work on my cycle trainer. |  |

Other than watching QPR at home and, occassionally, away I don't really watch much league football except the various playoffs on TV.
I'll stick a lot Scotland games on TV, same for England. And I wander up to Wembley a few times a year to watch England live. Usually I try to restrict it to qualifiers but I did have a laugh at the recent Belgium friendly and am going back on Friday for the Iceland game. It's more just a night out with mates than anything else and I sometimes get my son or daughter along. Daughter this time. Three stops on the tube, can't really say no.
I'll watch all the Scotland and England Euros and WC games on TV obvs.
Other than that, I sometimes watch the odd six nations rugby game but am not really that interested. Despite my user name. Which wasn't meant to have anything to do with the rugby team of the same name. [Post edited 4 Jun 19:01]

1. AFL. There's a glorious window March & April where footbal codes overlap.
2. Snooker. Add the wold championship to the window above. Best time of year. For those looking for local (Hammersmith) tables check out the Chiswick Memorial Club. I have the occasional knock there.
3. Pool. Hammersmith Club (Rutland grove) has probs the best tables in West London.
Sadly soured on cricket due to pjamaisation and the horrible commercialisation that comes with it. Bullshit walkout music etc. Ruined even the beauty of test cricket for me (and Smith/Waner). Should get back into it. |

I would quite literally watch anything on TV if its sports. Rugby union, cycling, golf, field hockey, athletics, cricket, darts, tennis, you name it.
Since moving to NL I had to learn to appreciate sports like ice skating and field hockey which, in my native South Africa, was not popular or not even present (skating), but huge in NL.
There was a time I watch quite a bit of US baseball because it was on the telly right about the time I was cooking dinner. |

NFL. I've always had a passing interest and used to watch the late night channel 5 highlights back in the day, but the last 5 or so years I've got heavily involved - I think it's incredible.
With the modern game the way it is, I'd go as far to say that I prefer watching the NFL to PL football... I'd take a live NFL game over anything outside of QPR. |  |

IOMTT is the biggest event on my sporting calendar, closely followed by the Manx GP, NW200 etc. Everything else is quite far behind. I had some fast laps on a solo hanging onto Dave Roper around Barber in Alabama which was an experience. Also done a bit of sidecar swinging which is an itch I want to scratch some more. A mate won a race at the Pre-TT classic this year which I've now got an eye on. Also hope to go to Goodwood one day as a participant.
Watch a bit of BSB & Australian Superbikes as I've spent time with some of the top guys competing in those.....Moto GP I pick up in fits and starts. Father-in-law is mad for F1 so I try to keep up with that.
Otherwise, boxing is my favourite sport to watch/follow.
Mad for Darts atm with Luke Littler. Have a dart board and improved a lot during covid. Was the U12 pool Champion at our local club a couple of years running. Been to darts & snooker a few times at various venues.
Mrs SH is into track and field, I've always loved the Olympics, and Diamond League is a good day out
Watched a lot of Rugby league when living in that part of the world (Cas Tigers supporter, sort of, not really bothered anymore) - Did a Broncos game at Trailfinders before Covid, but that is the last Rugby game I went.
The Superbowl is a thing in my house but struggle to keep up with/care about the regular season. I absolutely love the new 3x3 Basketball, NBA is OK but too much of it.
My tolerance for cricket is constantly increasing as I age.
Football I was not great at but got carried through school & youth teams by my mate who ended up pro. Through him I saw things about football I didn't and still don't like. Now I'm kind of disillusioned with/sick of it.
The opposite is true of Motorsports, I was pretty unimpressed by it all as a youngster but the older I get the more I can't help but admire it. [Post edited 5 Jun 17:40]

This type of thread always amazes me with the lack of mentioning Basketball, specifically the NBA. I think there's been one mention of Basketball in the UK, and that's it.
Sport, in general, is about the adrenalin rush, the moments of seeing something unbelievable achieved by athletes that have trained, almost their entire lives to get to that level.
So, as a fan of any sport, I would assume you are looking for those "out of the seat" moments of high quality and "edge of the seat" moments when with seconds left in the game the result is still unknown.
NBA has all of this and more. I'm sure people will mention the time outs and the fact that a 48 minute game time can last over two hours, but if you're looking for elite athletes, playing at the highest level, with probably an average of 40 (complete guess) out of your seat moments, of appreciation of either attack or defence and not knowing the result when there are, literally seconds left on the clock, then this is the sport.
I'm watching the NBA finals as I write this (another time out!) but what an entertaining sport to watch.
Just my opinion, by the way, not saying that I know better than anyone else.... |  |

Definitely Rugby for me. I absolutely love the internationals. Great sport, whole different vibe to football as a spectator. I first got into it while travelling Australia just as the 2003 World Cup started. Great time to start watching it, obviously. Did my first England international at Twickenham in 2017, loved it, don't remember much about the match due my in-play consumption of Guinness.
