What's the point of getting a decent manager when the players the board go for are lower championship/league 1 standard. |
One could argue that our championship squad under Brendan wasnt the best in the division or Laudrup in the PL but good coached brought the best out of players who weren’t considered world beaters. Also a good coach will attract better players as long as we don’t offer the tuppence ha penny a week | | | |

In that period we played differently to anyone else and that, along with excellent managers of course, allowed us to punch above our weight.
It’s the main reason I don’t want Sheehan longer than this season. The football we’ve played the last few games has been successful enough points wise and better to watch than under Williams, but it’s bog standard stuff that teams are used to playing against. I can’t see us progressing playing that kind of football. | | | |
