Possible next managers... 08:07 - Apr 25 with 41107 viewsGloucs_R

I can't see this blowing over with a happy outcome so looking forward. Who works you like to see take the helm?

Options could be...

Gary O'Neill
Russell Martin
Liam Rosenior
Steve Cooper
Will Still

Would love it to Gary Oneill. Is he a premier league manager???? He did ok at Bournemouth and Wolves but i don’t think any PL club would come for him.

He still lives in south London, he knows us and I think he would fancy it

Linked to the Norwich job

I'd give Gary O'Neil a go. Think he could be the right Man, and with the possibility of good money coming in from the Palace selling Ese, at the right time too.

Give it to Monty Don for a season

Minor flaw being O’Neil isn’t fcking mental/desperate enough to come within 500 miles of the club again.

Why would someone who has recently managed in the Premier League want to go to a club circling the drain in the Championship?

The Sy Mirren manager is the one to get. Been at an underdog club in excess of three years and over performed in every season. .

Consistency and continuity is exactly what we need.

OK it’s crap but ( trying my best) the squad being inherited is so much better than Martí inherited. Assume Jimmy will go wherever Martí goes ( can’t blame him) but with young guns coming through and contracts signed and surely the injury situation can’t repeat itself. No idea who btw but it surely will attract quality applicants. Elephant in the room is the boss …. no ine knows

Pierre Sage ex Olympic Lyonnais - you heard it here first.

Well Gary O’Neil definitely still lives in London. Think he lives around Beckenham way. His son is at the Palace academy so being in London will help. I’m not sure I’d have him to be honest.

Do you think we'll interview a woman for the job? I appreciate it's not exactly likely but would anyone take Sarina Wiegman for example?

I feel like I've never heard Pierre Sage's name more in the past week! What is he like then? Lyon to QPR feels like a bit of a step down doesnt it?

Probably no point having a manager. They will only last about 18 months before they get sacked and the circus starts again. We need consistency. We were moving forward under Marti. He understood us. The board need to look at themselves and how they have handled this whole debacle. Their next appointment is a HUGE decision. They get it wrong and the fans I’m sure will turn.

It does . But the 27 year old with the PowerPoint and posh accent will charm him I’m sure.

Until he realises he doesn’t have a clue about recruitment,‘performance’, ‘methodology’ or anything else for that matter

"We were moving forward under Marti."

I'm not sure we have moved on yet. We could finish 15th - 18th come Saturday lunchtime with no more points than last year. Is that Marti's fault, probably not, but this season has been ridiculous in terms of starting the season in relegation form, then people thinking we were heading for the playoffs but as usual over the last 10years we settle back down around 16th.

The questions we want answered we will never be told the full picture because each side will think the other is to blame.

Was it a demand on Marti to play the "play out from the back" from De Souza and CEO and ....... actually I am just regurgitating what WLS Pod were discussing earlier today.

Just pizzed off totally that we are back at the bottom of the mountain again and it is not even May yet.

We'd need to give him thyme.

Seeing as Nourry and the super computer were seemingly thinking of sacking Marti as early as Nov 2024, do we think we've been talking to potential managers during that time and that will mean a replacement, once Marti's Garden leave situation has been resolved, will be swift? I'd like to think that they would at least have been proactive on that front but I have little faith. The new guy is going to need a lot of time to deal with all the change that's coming our way this summer.

Marti’s probably been given instructions to grow it during his “gardening leave.”

The usual generic list they have on all Championship clubs by the look of it. Won't have any reflection on who we are looking at.

Agreed. Also obviously Nourry will want to make some kind of left-field analytics driven appointment that nobody was expecting to prove he's far more clever than everyone else so it'll likely be someone we've never heard of.

To be fair if it were him that found Marti in the first place he got that one very right so maybe lightning can strike twice.
