| KPop 20:41 - Nov 17 with 2062 views | colinallcars | A school in Dorset has banned pupils from singing songs from some film or other about KPop versus the demons as it is against its Christian ethics. Quite right, I thought KPop was a breakfast cereal. [Post edited 17 Nov 20:58]

There's a recent South Park about that if you haven't seen it. I greatly enjoy without really understanding. Which is probably the point.

If you look at thousands of years of music from when early man made a note by tapping twigs together, there have been milestones. 1199 Italian priests devised musical notation 1798 the introduction of the 12 bar octave 1954 skiffle 1985 Rick Astley 2025 Kpop.

Could be a good opportunity to explore the evolution of breakfast cereals too (as hinted at in the original post). Here’s my starter for 10: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/02/22/dining/history-of-cereal.html [Post edited 18 Nov 0:04]

Yeah same I always swore I wouldn't be one of those parents who let their kids dictate the stereo. Alas, they very much dictate the stereo. And the thing is, because their taste in music evolves quite quickly, so that what ever they are in to at any one time is a bit more sophisticated than what they were in to last month, each new phase comes as a relief, because we're no longer listening to e.g. sappy Disney songs and are now listening to e.g. something with a bit of dance energy. Yeah I quite like KPop Demon Hunters too. Favourite tunes? Mine are probably Free and This is What It Sounds Like (I always sing Prince lyrics over it, much to my own amusement) although I can see why Golden is such a big hit, it's pretty much a perfect pop song [Post edited 18 Nov 2:42]

| KPop on 08:17 - Nov 18 with 1416 views | joe90 | Another one for K-pop demon hunters, my daughters current favourite show. Annoyingly the songs are catchy. Always find it funny how the story is about the the demons using pop music to win over the fans and take their souls and there in real life my daughter is transfixed to the screen singing along like a drone… [Post edited 18 Nov 8:18]

| KPop on 13:23 - Nov 18 with 1050 views | MrSheen | My teenage niece has been a K-pop fanatic for years, every birthday and Christmas all she wants is tickets and merchandise. My brother has to drive her from Watford to the O2 a couple of times a year for shows and, worse, sit there with her. We ought to sign a Korean singer in the window and get her to shift some away shirts. | | | |

Based on the intensity of this phenomenon I'd say there's a good chance a few of us may have requests for items of K-pop 6-7 merchandise to be brought back. Possible scene involving giant amounts of shiny tat spilling onto the floor in the Shepherd and Flock to the sound of excited shrieking, glee and such.
