| Swansea City v Oxford United : Match day thread on 09:57 - Dec 6 by Whiterockin | This is true, but for me it is how you are asked to play. Take Grimes as an example, first name on the team sheet here for most managers but rightly criticised by many supporters including myself. Goes to Coventry and immediately helps them get to the play offs. Captain this year, loved by the manager and supporters and clear at the top of the league. We have had crap managers recently and surly that affects players and playing style, hopefully Matos can turn things around. |
Grimes was always up against it due the way managers wanted to play and the strengths and weaknesses of the players around him. If you put Russell Martin in charge of Coventry and paired him with Fulton in midfield, he’d pass sideways and backwards there too.

| Swansea City v Oxford United : Match day thread on 10:02 - Dec 6 by onehunglow | Grimes should have stood up to the coaches to end their ludicrous ways He was the centre of everything flow about us At Coventry , yeah, he shows he can be influential Not PL standard though Key is simply bad and shouldn’t have been given another de Anyway, he was so let’s get it back We can do this |
He did stand up and was gone the following week. Ultimately his decision because he wanted out.

Galbraith as a flying RB will be mad to see. This side looks strong 💪 Come on the Swans don’t wreck my weekend again 😭

Not sure we can be any worse for the amount of space Key gives away and no closing down. Tymon is not immune from that but at least he contributes in other areas. I like Keys intent to attack but doesn't work with Ronald well and leaves out defense wide open.

Stamenic deserved that, he's been excellent 1st half

You think the absence of one player has made this difference?

| Swansea City v Oxford United : Match day thread on 17:02 - Dec 6 with 894 views | union_jack | Ok, not as good a second half but one thing I’ll say is they left everything out there. Difficult conditions which strangely Oxford seemed to deal with better than us. I’ll put that down to us being a bit edgy especially as the game progressed. Our passing was a bit awry at times and wrong options but after 5 games without a win it’s understandable. On a negative note, not impressed with Cabango again. | |

| Swansea City v Oxford United : Match day thread on 17:08 - Dec 6 with 849 views | AnotherJohn | Very good result but only a so-so display in my opinion, and one that fell away badly in the 2nd half. I want to see us scoring from well-worked moves, where the goals are down to attacking excellence rather than mistakes. Our first goal was aided by a goalkeeping error, while Tymon's speculative shot was one he would only hit like that once in a blue moon. So these were valuable goals, but not coming from a template we can re-produce every week. Eom played well and Galbraith was solid most of the time, while not as accurate with his passing as on his best days. I didn't think the subs added a great deal, although Casey was solid. He was only only one who I'd say made a case for inclusion in the starting eleven. In mitigation the awful weather may have affected our passing game after the interval. | | | |

Oxford were vile Burgess was decent Stamenic excellent and why some can’t see his class is odd Cullen excreable as was Fulton , again What player simply stay stationery defending a lead at the death then strolls up and turns his body sideways These two , with Key should be first out of the door And yes , one man did make the difference Matos got it right and for first time in months we saw joy on the face of our coach They dug on and saw it out We have still much to rectify but that might be the renaissance

You’re absolutely on point regarding the nature of our goals. I thought exactly the same thing. Hopefully it will come.

I agree with this, although what I would add to that is if we win 1-0 with a goal off someone’s backside, it’s still the 3 points, & although obviously we have a lot to improve on, even a scruffy win could be the start of a decent run which may see us move up the table. Also in Tymon’s case with the goal, it might encourage others to shoot instead of fannying about with it in the final third, especially with the likes of Tymon, Vipi & Galbraith, who all have a decent shot on them. Obviously lots to improve on, but small signs today that we can be better than we have been.

Matos has a big job to do However , whereas Sheehan had sentiment on his side Vitor has some elan Crowds pick up on this It leads to momentum and that is what we’ve lacked with these excreable , dull coaches

| Swansea City v Oxford United : Match day thread on 18:08 - Dec 6 with 507 views | Dr_Winston | Slow start to the first half, but we grew into the game and were then easily the better side for the middle 50-60 minutes. A few careless passes crept in late on (fatigue maybe. Expected if they're training harder) but saw proceedings out well. Thoroughly enjoyed Eom's performance. He played with his tail up and they probably should have attracted a couple more bookings for their repeated inability to handle him fairly. We're still a bit shaky at the back and I remain unconvinced about Stamenic. He handles the physical side of things well, but I think we're asking him to do more on the ball than he's capable of. | |

The sort of player we’ve been looking for for years He’s a leader He doesn’t shirk challenges nor turn sideways when facing a shot This should be a pleasant evening
