Obviously if we were fans of another club and a team were scoring winners in the 94th and 90th mins we'd probably be saying the same. It's nice to hear nice things being said all the same.

It was quite funny as on the episode the week before the Macc fan on this pod cast was stating York would walk the league by 8 pts. This week it was it’s definitely going to the last game of the season, winner takes all.

It will certainly be a lot clearer by March 1st.

HT 0-0 so Dale still top....the Wood are winning Boston, now are they in relegation mix?

Boreham Wood now losing, with a man sent off

York doing the necessary, as expected

York two up, Newby with the second just now.

Back to Dale on Tuesday against a stuttering Boreham Wood who are down to nine men and losing again.

That York blip will hopefully start next week against Forest Green. Still think we’ll need a bit of help at some stage even if we are doing so well.

Wood losing 2 1 after they got a second red. Assume the red card recipients will be banned on Tuesday

Yes, unless there's some sort of appeal.

Carlisle fans won’t want Hughes out tonight, so they’ll arrive at Spotland next Saturday in a better mood.

Had a look at York’s form, they have 16 games left before they play us on the last day, if they match their last 16 games (12 wins, 4 draws) they’ll have 105 points ahead of kick off.

To make that game a dead rubber, we’d require 45 points from our next 19 games. Unless there’s a York slip, we may have to win 35-36 games to win the league. They should promote us straight to League 1 if we manage that!

Bad day for NL teams in the Trophy.
Halifax, Scunthorpe and Tamworth all lose at home to teams from lower leagues.
And Forest Green lose at home to Wealdstone.
No idea if any of the above fielded weakened teams though.

York have to play Scunny, Boreham, Forest Green and Dale. Are they going to pick up 12 points? This league could be determined by Dale's next 4 home games.

The two red card cards will give Dale a bit of scope in selection (not jumping up to advantage, just yet) IF both cards stand from Ref Alan a Dale. Small margins and all that and we will take them.

I think someone last week might have suggested that the 'Wood's season was spent?

Not sure,we will soon know.

Yes, there are plenty of twists and turns to come.

For a start, it's York v FGR next Saturday, and then FGR v Carlisle the Saturday after that. Scunthorpe have Carlisle, Dale and York on consecutive midweeks later in February.

Wins in fixtures between the clubs in the top 5/6 are so important at this stage.

And Dale have Scunthorpe home and away and Southend and Halifax away. All teams in the current top eight.
Would be brilliant to win all four but all potential banana skins.

Depends what you mean by "help"

Things can change of course, and no-one's going to win every game but as things stand, the team that actually needs "help" is York - they need help from our opponents to nick points off us

Whilst that stays the same, the FGs* help those who help themselves

*not Rovers

It’s based on us having a really good run-in, yet not winning every game - something pretty much everyone has said we don’t expect.

Having looked at York’s form, they have 16 games left before they play us on the last day, if they match their last 16 games (12 wins, 4 draws) they’ll have 105 points ahead of kick off. That’s why it’ll be helpful if they have a dip in form.

If not, to make that game a dead rubber, we’d require 45 points from our next 19 games. Unless there’s a York slip, we may have to win 35-36 games to win the league. They should promote us straight to League 1 if we manage that!

As it stands we can afford to drop 7 more points than York. So in true R17ALE stylee, at the moment we require 53 runs from 20 balls.

I’m sure that number will come down as York won’t win every game.

Our form over the first 20 games and the last 20 games is the same 49 points.

Can we replicate that over the last 20 games? If we could it would be 113 points and that would be more than enough. Personally I think we will be around 106points. If York gets that then fair apply to them.

Undoubtedly. It’s that if we keep doing what we’ve been doing over our last 16 games it will mean we will have 101 points after 42 games. When the talk was aiming for 100 points, it’s looking like quite a few more will be required to win it on current form.

We could do with York having a similar run to our W12, D1, L3 since October. Dropping 3/4 points more than they have recently is going to make a massive difference.

Yeah, would go for around 106 should there be the inevitable chaotic interventions outside of our control.

I think if we do get over 100 points, but end up getting pipped by York we should tip our hats and say what a great achievement, but we were beaten by a better team.

Which ever way it goes if we get into triple points would be remarkable achievement.

Also got to take into account scoreboard pressure on York if we keep winning.

That goes both ways. If and when we drop points we should not panic.

They haven’t been in the title race for weeks so would think they’re focusing on a Wembley double.
