It’s becoming more prevalent. Cunha has just been awarded a penalty for Man United after, to my mind, merely falling over in the area. And that’s with VAR as well.
Got to laugh at the ref saying 'holding offence' - well he put his hand on his shoulder if that is holding?
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

"holding offence"...crikey ..just look at the shenanigans going on in the box during any corner taking process...Man Utds game at Everton was virtually all in wrestling at times
With any luck Southend could be distracted by the FA Trophy semifinal when we visit them. They go to Southport the following week.
How would we know?
They also have another two league fixtures between playing us and Southport.
We beat Aldershot 4-0 the week before Spennymoor last season and were then only denied victory at Woking by a late penalty.
I imagine Southend's upcoming game v Southport will make minimal difference on their preceding league games, especially as they need to be winning them to get into the play offs.
Maestro? No.
Elite? No.
Heavyweight poster? No.
Able to be rational and not over-react to individual results? Yes.
Not looking too far ahead... a HUGE 3 weeks to navigate then take a look at the final run in.
Sat 7th Mar Rochdale v Boston York v Eastleigh
Sat 14th Mar Eastleigh v Rochdale Aldershot v York
Tue 17th Mar Southend v Rochdale (game in hand)
Sat 21st Mar Rochdale v Tamworth York v Brackley
Whilst we'll be without Gilmour and TAR during these games, one of their key players, Stones, will be suspended for a couple of them
As others have said, i expect Pettit to step up to the plate now, which he already has done in his limited time on the pitch. Might need a slight adjustment in our play since he seems to have a more solid holding style and not pushing forward as much, but that might actually work in our favour. He can move the ball on quickly and allow others such as East to forage ahead
I'm still saying, ignoring the individual fixtures, 8 wins seals it, 7 gives us a good chance, 6 if one of them is v York & 4/5 of the remaining games are draws. 106-110 is the aim for me.

Watched the Borehamwood York game on Dazn. Remarkable how 4 of the 5 goals came from set pieces. This seems to have become a problem for Dale recently. New tactics Jim?
Also until the stupid sending off, nothing to choose between the teams.
Bearing in mind it`s only 4 weeks since we beat BWood 4-1.
Just realised how comparatively easy is York`s run of March matches compared to ours. And we thought Feb was going to be the worst one!
No surrender. UTD
There's no easy games when the pressure of a title is at stake with 10/11 games to go. Who'd have thought we'd beat Southend, Carlisle, Borehamwood and Forest Green but drop points at Yeovil. York haven't tasted defeat for over half a season until last Tuesday - who knows how they'll react and without their number 9 on Saturday? There will be lots of twists and turns to come yet.

"Jim", as you would expect, is fully aware that we conceded from set-pieces in midweek (4:41 on and they will no doubt have focused on that in training since then.
This time next week we will be staring down the end of season 8 game to go barrel after playing these two tricky away games.
Sat 14th Mar Eastleigh v Rochdale (5.30) Aldershot v York
Tue 17th Mar Southend v Rochdale (game in hand)
I watched Eastleigh v Brackley on Tuesday (2-1).......Brackley did nt seem to be the same outfit that gave us a good game a few days ago. Whilst not dissing the Spitfires either, I do think we should have enough to win.
SoftLad has been hypercritical of the Shots showing against Carlisle....he must get them charged up for York or they will succumbe to a 4th defeat in a row. He thinks they have a mental block against the top sides.

Softlad’s right. We cruised past Aldershot in second gear. Some on their board were saying that we weren’t very good. I get how they thought that, but the truth is we didn't have to be. Their performance in the final third was extremely poor, ours clinical and their keeper kept them in it with a handful of good saves. Don’t look to Aldershot to hold back York.

Not "expecting" anything... but maybe York are starting to feel the pressure and SoftLad will be starting to find a way to exert pressure. Who knows?

I agree, don’t underestimate the effect of score board pressure on York. A big ask but if we win our next two games and get a five point lead the pressure on York will ramp up.
We will have 8 games with 5 point advantage. We would need 20 points from 8 games. York would probably need to win 7 on the trot to take it to the last day.
With every game we match York the more the pressure mounts.

Although York have the opportunity to put the pressure back on us on Saturday as we are the late kick off.
