Matt Webb left last night after nearly 18 years service. Remarkable really all the best at West Ham

He'll always be remembered for being the first man to swim across the English Channel.

A lifer escapes. Thought they'd carry him out of that place in a box.
One of the nicest and most genuine people you'll ever meet and deal with. Big loss to the club.

Good luck Matt and thanks for help with arranging things for fans and their ill and deceased friends.

Either he wishes a low profile or the club have just disregarded him completely nothing on website at all. He’s gone to West Ham another big job to be fair

Excuse my ignorance, what was his role at the club?

Worked in the Media team. Doing lots of pre/post match interviews. Programme notes.
I know through a mutual friend many years ago.
I was trying to get in touch with the club about a couple of issues that weren't getting resolved. So I contacted Matt directly to help (even though it wasn't in his role to do so), and it got sorted within a day!
Top man. And will be greatly missed. :-( [Post edited 15 Oct 17:02]
