No I am not happy with having Beech around the first team, it was always going to happen though. I just have to trust Hill and his judgment, but I guess we simply couldn't afford to bring in a new number two. |  |

It's not just about working under guidance though.
The last thing Hill would want is a "yes" man as his number two. He'd want someone capable of independent thought and judgement - like Flicker.
Whatever else Beech is, I'd say he's his own man. It probably didn't help him when he was appointed caretaker because he could see how so much had gone wrong and as it happened, he took it in the neck but didn't complain when Coleman/Bell came in, just got on with his role. He will have learned from that.

Well it is all we have to go on to be fair, we shouldn't be backing him based on what he might be as a manager in the future, under Hills tutelage. We were much worse than under Eyre in the 7 games he was in charge. | |
