On a more serious note, what's the feeling around the Dale camp ahead of Saturdays game?
I think any Bury fan would tell you they'd be amazed if Bury got anything from this fixture.. given our abysmal recent record at Spotland and poor form coming into the game. Lee Clark has done little so far to give the fans any optimism.
But who knows... they say form goes out of the window for Derby matches..
I'll go for 3-1 Dale.. Attendance of 4,900 with 1,600 Shakers. Play anything like we did in the league under Flitcroft at Spotland and it will get ugly after the match.

As far as I'm aware Camps is injured and Hill's persistence of playing either Canavan or McNulty is going to ruin what is the potential to be a great team. We've looked toothless going forward but the goals will come with Davies, Done et al.
We have a great record against you in recent times and while I'm always pessimistic when we play you, I have no doubt we'll lose tomorrow - I hope I'm wrong but Beckford will ruin our defence. If Nthle is playing just attack down the left side and you'll have no problems scoring. |

There have been times in our history that we have had awful debts and not paid out to suppliers - going back to 1970s and 1980s in particular. What did the fans of the club (the few we had) do then. Nothing because there was nothing we could do.
Maybe the club should have been shutdown, but I am glad we weren't and eventually people took over with better business practices.
I do wish we could be a little more humble about all of this, the fans of the dark side of Heywood are unfortunate to have a team run by someone who probably doesnt have the best interests of the club at the forefront of his decisions. They deserve a well run club as much as the fans of any other club.
That doesnt stop me despising everything from the dark side of Heywood but lets not get too arrogant about club finances - we once had Tommy Cannon in charge! If ever someone would have failed a fit and proper test it was him. | | | |

The massive £180 million debt at Bolton is owed to their owner, who has effectively said he doesn't want it back, but that crucially, they will be getting no more, (from him) under any circumstances.
They will never be chased for that repayment, but as they are seriously struggling with other financial woes, it's perhaps just as well. All's not well at Bolton. |  |

The only arrogance on display is the huge spending going on at bury, something which would never have happened at any stage of Dale's humble history

Surely you remember things like the Fighting Fund? I've got pictures of supporters helping out left, right and centre at the club.
Despite our financial troubles - which certainly weren't brought about by over-spending on players - our fans of that time, including yourself, deserve credit for helping to keep the club going and strengthening to what we have today.
I certainly imagine there was no lauding it over any other clubs as we avoided another re-election.

My understanding is he has capitalised a significant chunk of the debt to shares from his business; that's completely different to the huge revaluation of Gigg Lane which they did in a previous year, (which you're referring to)...so i'm with you on that one!
The 2nd part is much better for Bury FC though - for at least part of the debt owed to be converted into shares (which dont need to be repaid), e.g. would you rather have a £10M debt or a £5M debt, with the rest in shares? The figures are hypothetical btw.

30 with Sang going out on loan. But 2 or 3 others will go before transfer deadline day (Tutte for one and hopefully Bruce). As said, we have 9 injured (many long term) so we're down to 20ish really, with 3 being kids.
Still too many though, especially as Clark said he wanted 22/23. We were warned by a Huddersfield fan...which when you think was his best tenure, is worrying to say the least.

27. That includes Collis and BBM who are really coaches and three 'youth team' players, who we included on the bench at Stoke.
That's something else that makes no sense at Gigg Lane, there's this decent youth system so why not include them in the squad rather than sign someone from Huddersfield's equivalent on loan?
