Poll: Greatest Ever Dale Game

Hereford match thread - BBC radio commentary on 16:21 - Oct 14 with 7808 viewsRodingdale

From the Hereford commentary - “Rochdale very methodical with their build up, Clayton with a chance to shoot….why oh why didn’t he shoot? Well they’ve just overplayed it”

“Ebanks - at walking pace, a chance to cross, no but it’s pass back”.

If you do what you always did you will get what you always got….

We've had a shot from a free-kick...! Are we playing for the draw?

"Rochdale need to be more cut throat. They've passed passed and passed all afternoon but no goal"

Same old same old...

The board should have told the manager that giving him a bigger budget was totally dependent on winning today and getting a good draw in the next round.
Might have concentrated his mind more.

Up there with the Droylesden and Northwich Victoria debacles. A new low.

Lost 1-0. Dale sounded predictable, boring, doing the same old ineffective things. Great stats my @rse.

Perhaps I shouldn’t be really surprised after 60 years of being on the receiving end in cupties.
Probably hastens the departure of players as soon as the transfer window opens.
And BJ had better be prepared, for the first time, for a level of toxicity next week if current form continues.

Really, really poor against a Level 6 side.

The last 30 minutes especially.

Pass, pass back, pass sideways. How the hell are we supposed to win games if we don't attack.
It's a cup game for god's sake, a one off game, why hasn't the manager told the players to attack, attack, play the ball forward, shoot!
The basics aren't there and never will be under the current management regime.

The result is shocking, a good cup run would have proved a good source of income. I like McNulty, but he reminds me of BBM. He thinks and acts like a youth coach at times, which over a season, could prove costly, the style of play is more important then the result mentality.

I hope doesn’t dare rattle on about effort and pride. We are never going to batter anyone playing like this. It’s embarassing

In the commentary it said their budget is £300,000 which is 6k per week. I would imagine our budget must be more than double that, yet we have a squad who hardly put a shot in for the whole 90 minutes. Poor performance and a result & takes away the magic of being in the hat for the first round proper. Well done Hereford.

We should have finished them off when we had chances in the first half. According to bet365 we didn't have a single shot after going behind. This team is too nice, there's no ruthlessness, no urgency to the play whether we're winning or losing. It needs to come from McNulty.

A new low today no FA cup proper this season. But I can't wait for the 'we could have won on a different day' speech from McNulty later.

In one off cup games it's about winning, no matter how you do it.
Bollocks to possession and how many nice passes we can do sideways and backwards.
I just wish that the players would have ignored McNulty's pre match tactics and team talk and just gone for it.
It's about SCORING GOALS, especially in one off cup games.

It's a very SIMPLE game.
We are very close to financial extinction, and this may very well be the final nail in the coffin.

That great football sage, Dion Tosspot Dublin was only saying last night (Eng v Aus) that possession is great, but it does not win you matches.

Was McNulty not listening or watching Corrie on another channel.
