I'm going to the Ireland-England match with my son tomorrow. It's been quite a while since the two a sides met in a competitive international, and I'd like him to experience the atmosphere.
It's on an occasion like this that I'm reminded of a conversation I had with some Bristol City fans in the C&S before our match against them last season. You may recall that was Marti's first home match and fans were still suffering from the trauma of the dying days of the Ainsworth stewardship. The Bristol lads were great craic, but as we got up to leave for the match one of them uttered "may the best team win!". My instinctive reply was "God, I hope not...."

The Scotland game was on in a bar we were in, and my daughter asked if Dykes was playing. She was asking what colour his hair is now to try and identify him. Then he missed an open goal and I said “there he is”.

I only rememebered yesterday that this game was on.
Man, I used to love International footy. I'll tune in, though. Two new managers, so should be interesting.

Interim England manager. Do we have anyone, anywhere,in positions of influence that matter to us that don't actively despise us?
He never sang the Irish Anthem either . He turned down the Irish job as he had higher ambitions. It’s a non story. I wish him well. Top bloke by all accounts.

Saw most of his interview and really like him plus he did play for Ireland and he remembers his time fondly and was an excelent player . He has a superb team at his disposal now even without Foden,Palmer and Watkins they should blow Ireland out of the water. He said he will have no issue starting Rice and Grealish despite the reception they will recieve having worn the green shirt for most of their under age internationals before chosing England. It seems like a fresh start for both teams and exciting times but England are just too strong right now

Indeed. Just more media BS targeted at easily outraged idiots. Funny how quickly they all forgot about the collar flag, almost as if it never mattered or something.

He speaks well. Dealt with the ridiculous Greenwood question as well as one could. Nobody with an IQ above 80 cares if he sings the anthem. Such a weird thing in this country that we have to find an angle to attack whoever manages the national team.
Given the players with mysterious knocks it’s a good, interesting squad. Would’ve been easy to play it safe.

Well if we are to believe Carsley it is going to be a more high press attacking England, which we have always wanted Be an interesting game this... the Irish will be up for this, hope we are. I can see this being a draw tonight. But hopefully a new manager "bounce" So hopefully 2-0 to us
